InKontrol
Evening all, I'm thinking of trading in my Focus MK2.5 for a 2011 (MK3) plate Focus Titanium 1.6tdci with around 23,000 miles on the clock. Is there anything I need to be aware of reliability wise before going for it? I don't really want to part cash with a car that's going to break down all the time! Thanks :)
InKontrol
Excellent responses... I'm also wondering whether to go for the Titanium X or standard Titanium. <_<
jimrex
23,000 miles is fairly low for a 2011, mines just reached 50k! Make sure you do enough mileage to justify the diesel, if not it'll need a quick blast down the motorway every now and then to keep the DPF in check (plenty of stories of DPF's on the internet!) Mines on it's third driver's side window motor, and I've noticed the passenger side becoming intermittent, not sure if there's a design flaw or if it's just coincidence. Other than that, mine has proved to be a reliable, economical but fun car to drive and it's the car I've owned longest... I don't think you can go far wrong. If you can find a good Titanium X in your budget, might as well go for it! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
InKontrol
Thanks for the response, I've decided to up the budget and go for something newer. I have seen a few 13 plate Titanium's with only 9000 miles on the clock, so going to be looking at them and see whether I want to stretch to a Titanium X. My concern with the X is the following: Xenon headlamps and when they fail will be expensive Driver assistance pack is quite frankly a waste of time and money for me, I don't need a car to tell me that I'm drifting across a lane and if there's anything in my blind spot...Can't remember the other extra's that weren't worth the upgrade!I'm not saying no to an X, but I'll have to see what the dealer pulls out of the hat first...
