Fiestametalhead22
Hello, Recently noticed when on a cold start while reversing up my drive the car makes a noise, I've found a video on youtube which sounds exactly like it. http://youtu.be/IEjhnqztNn0 Just wondered what it could be? Someone said in the comments it could be a thrust bearing but i wouldn't have a clue. Also i get a buzzing on my rear Speakers. The Speakers themselves are fine but it i think its the plastic. If i touch it, the noise disappears? Any tips on fixing that? Any help is appreciated Thanks in advance. SandyCat
Trim vibration is common because they simply bond the speaker to the big plastic part which then resonates and you would have to try and get behind with packing to stop it. Annoying I agree. As for the transmission noise I would make the dealer aware of it straight away in writing in case you need to make a claim later on. A lot of these noises relate to the higher performance cars and the problem is you don't know how they have been treated by the previous owner sadly. Fiestametalhead22
Thanks for your reply, so i would guess that its a pain in the bum to get near the Speakers? Ok whats best to write in the letter? Not sure how i would word it. Because of it being a moving part wouldn't they say its up to me to repair and not covered by warranty? SandyCat
From what I have seen of them I think it's a large panel isn't it so may take some work to remove. Probably covered in the Haynes manual. The noise could be a faulty part which existed when you bought the car so would be the dealers responsibility. Mention it to them verbally and see what they say and if nothing is done now write to them explaining that you bought the car with what you suspect is a problem and that if it fails you have made them aware of it and reserve the right to make a claim. Just put it in your own words and sign and date it and keep a copy.
