the last 3 mornings when ive gone to turn the key nothing happens no attempt to start but the radio and lights all work so i asume it isnt the battery after a few attempts and looking under the bonnet it starts straight away. any information would be great thanks. my email is josh_711253@hotmail.com

Bad battery, you probably get a lot of clicking in the passenger footwell and the lights flicker a little, on turning the key to position II it probably sweeps both the gauges.

If you need a new battery get a silver calcium battery.

Thanks for the reply , that's what I thaught at first but the radio and lights seemed ok when I turn the key it doesn't make any sound its bin first thing in the morning the last 3 days , all the dash lights also work and randomly after about 5 mins it randomly starts easy

these will work, they use a lot less voltage / amperage. Starting the car takes about 15% of the battery with every attempt, if it doesnt charge up enough it struggles each start. using other electrics on the car in the same time will use about 5% between them if that.

Morning jeebowhite same happened this morning radio comes on and dash all works and lights at stage 2 and when I turn to stage 3 the no starter attempts didnt hear anything in the passengers footwell just no turn in the key, I opened the bonnet to see if there was any loose connections to the battery and I heard a electrical noise under the bonnet wich sounded like something in the computer might be switching on and when i heard that i knew the car would start and it did, any ideas

so if you leave the key in position 2 for a little while, then when its finished its whining it will let you start?

Have you got a trip computer?

Yes exactly that as soon as I hear the whining noise I try to start and boom it works fine all day, do you mean the little computer built in to the car that sends me msgs and that ?

yeah, you can try the dashboard test which is turn the key off, then press and hold reset and start the car. Keep hold and this will take you into the diagnostics menu, you can use the reset key to keep circulating the menus until you see the one called DTC, see if there are any error codes there as they may help.

Nice instructions lol, it says DTC #019202 does that mean anything to you?

That doesnt appear as a standard error code... Did you read it correctly? or by any chance did you read two characters as once?

Pretty sure I read It right i shall check asap, do you have any idea why it won't start until that whining electrical sound engages could it be a loose conection or problem with the starter motor? Or would it have trouble starting everytime and not just the last 4 mornings consecutively?
