yamjah
hi all could any one tell me what sort of paint to use on my rear drum brakes to tidy them up as they look a bit rusty and untidy thanks.
mjt
I've just done mine. I bought black high-temperature engine lacquer from Halfrauds. It's supposed to withstand temperatures up to 300C. I applied two coats by brush and it looks very good.

tomo91
I used Hammerite smooth black on mine to get a nice gloss black finish, haven't had any issues with it so far Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app

tomo91
thanks Tom for the pics, Is is a gloss or matt finish? also did you use any primer or just give them a good rub down and put the hammerite on? It's a gloss finish, just get a stiff wire brush and give them a good clean with that to get all the break dust off, then I had some calliper cleaner left from when I done my front callipers and used that then, just painted straight and gave them a couple of coats! Easy peasy! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app
tomo91
I wouldve said leave them alone dont draw attention to them but tomo91's look tidy fp Yeah that's what I thought as there only drums but they gain more attention if their brown and rusty in my opinion haha! bry0586
i think painting them black doesn't draw attention, its when they're red, yellow, gold when they draw attention lol
