yeah there's a guy whom builds custom laser cut parts from brushed stainless steel,

See my guide here: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/26813-custom-laser-cut-parts-for-your-focus/?pid=145032#entry145032

Good link Lenny.

I will have a look through eBay to find this seller. These are the sort of extra mods I had in mind. Thanks mate.

Have you done any like this yourself? And are the products good quality?

yeah I've fitted the glovebox strip and the side window dash vent surrounds, I also planned to fit the door speaker surrounds but I never got around to buying them, the stuff is laser cut via a C&C machine its 100% precision, see my guide on fitting glove box strip, it's on the thread I linked you to there,

i used masking tape to mark out a level line for fitting,

It's good quality stuff but can only be stuck once,

It will buckle and kink if you try to peal it off and re-stick key is to line up correctly first time,

I'm on my second glove box strip as I messed up the first one.

I will have a read through it tonight and maybe order the vent surrounds and the glove box strip. Looks food the way it has the word Focus on it. I also see he has a cover for storage under the ac controls with the word Focus on it.

very nice indeed. :)

no prob,

Yes the centre console "garage door" panel does look good but personally i wouldn't fit everything he provides for the focus to the same car as it may look a tad OTT i personally like small changes in different areas all adds up to something special when parked next to stock.

I know what you mean Lenny.

I like to keep the focus to look like its as close to OEM as possible to give it a better look but also like to add in small changes like yourself to make it different when next to a standard stock.

I think I will leave the "garage door" panel and maybe do the vents and the glove box strip.

I'm in the middle of installing the mobius dash cam (trying to hard wire it into as a fit and forget setup). Then I'm going to paint up my calipers and rear drums. By that time hopefully all the stuff for the foot wells lights should be here. :)

Thanks again Lenny.

While you have the front wheels off i recommend painting the spacer section of the brake discs aswell,

Finishes it off nicely:

Those stainless cut bits and bobs look pretty cool, the door handle ones would be sweet. They're quite expensive but the odd one does bring a bit of life to the interior.

I was going to paint my callipers too, i was thinking just black so they're not so obvious but the red looks nice against the silver.

Mk2.5 focus door cards would fit the mk2 and have the chrome finish as standard may be cheaper from breakers,

If you can get your hands on some foliatec caliper paint its great stuff two part mix enamel paint.

Looks good Lenny.

I thinking of doing black as it cleans the rusty look up and hides the brake dust to I think.

The red looks great on your zetec s. Goes well with the silver and the alloys.

Since I have just the standard zetec focus I think black would not look out of place on mine. But I think I will take your advice and paint the spacer section silver.

I might look in to the door cards didn't realise they did chrome ones as standard. There's a decent ford breakers about 2 miles away from me, got my self a ashtray/centre console flap for £10 a few days ago.

Isint it great when you find a breaker selling some parts that they dont realise the going rate is over 50 quid :)

I picked up my ST pod and dash surround for 35 quid,

If your down the breakers keep a look out for an interior light looking like this with the little clear square on either side of the switches :

IMG_20130806_101523_zpsf878eb7f.jpg

Ford charge over 90 pounds for this one, its got red ambient lights which shine a soft red glow on the centre console of the car when you switch on driving lights.

If you do find one and upgrade,

Dont sell your existing triple unit on eBay, swap it with the single unit thats fitted in the back,

Straight swap and gives map lights to the back seat passengers:

another one is: Titanium/Ghia facelift dash vents,

The have a piece of chrome on the centre alignment bar,

Gotta change complete vent but worth it:

Thanks Lenny I had planned on a tin of hammerite for the job lol!

Good information on the door cards and interior light. Next time I'm around the breakers I will have a prowl about for that light and I never knew that about the vents from the titanium spec focus are these avaible to buy online?

Roughly what price are the door cards? Do you have chrome ones because from some of your thread pics i thought you maybe painted them to match the silver in the dash.

One more thing Lenny is it possible to fit a auto dim rear view mirror to my standard zetec focus and if so is it a big job?

i bought the replacement dash vents from a breakers on eBay

Not sure on cost of door cards mate perhaps 35 pound each,

Rear doors are the same on both mk2 and mk2.5 though no chrome just front doors as standard,

Mine came with the chrome front doors as standard,

I'm thinking the same red as the car, although I have no idea where I could get that red? But then again silver wouldn't be so in your face...

speaking of alloys I have lost a few of the alloy nut covers on the rear wheels. these really wind me up as sometimes when loosening or tightening the wheels these wee covers fall of and are a nightmare to get back on securely.

has any one changed these or do you just replace them with new ones of the same type,

anyway if anyone can provide me with links to buy new ones I would be greatful.

Thanks.

looking sweet mate,

Just one thing, drop in to a tyre place within the next two weeks and have them apply some copper grease to the face of the hubs and bolt stems,

Otherwise the alloys will bont to the hubs resulting in a nightmare of a job to get the wheels off,

You can purchase a tube of copper grease and DiY but no point purchasing a tube when your only doing 4 wheels,

Does look the business though mate excellent job,

Just the copper grease is important

its always good when some else comments on your work, it makes the job worth while.

I actually have a full tin of copper grease in the toolbox I must grease up the face of the hubs and the bolt stems now that you mention it. let me know about the wheel nuts as I think when they loose the covers they take away the look of the wheel. also going to order new center wheel caps as I'm missing one at the back and some are scored.

Thanks mate.
