jeebowhite
I think it fits most aptly as I was initially corrected lol

Phil 87
I doubt the old lady was to blame, it's more likely the Corsa's gearbox had disintegrated to the point where all gears made it go backwards :P
jeebowhite
Haha, much more likely.
Nathan_M
Show Vauxhall people the worst 2 cars ever made the Nova and the Vectra and yet in thier blind Vauxhall crusade they genuinely think they were good cars, and when the stereotype for Ford owners is boy racers and chavs I couldn't stop laughing when i see the local cruisers come chugging along in their lowered astra with scissor doors. Vauxhall the best joke on 4 wheels.
chrisroberson99
Yeah the Vectra and Nova weren't that great. The Insignia is a good car. Especially the updated version.
Nathan_M
I just can't get excited over Vauxhalls full stop, The New mondeo will surely wipe the floor with the insignia, I would have said that sync2 is about the best mainstream in car system right now.
jeebowhite
My mate had a 52 vectra, he ran it to 180k I think and had plenty of odd jobs to keep it running along with some expensive ones, best one I remember was about 130k we were driving in his car to a job 30 miles away, Mid motorway he grabbed the gear knob and it fell off in his hand, had to press the knob onto the shifter to change gear, was an excellent anti theft mechanism lol! Must admit for the old styling I didn't mind so much the exterior of the car, it wasn't all that bad but the interior and drive and build quality where the biggest pitfalls.... Nathan_M
So the 3 biggest things that matter is where they can't get it right, I always look at it that Ford have perfected cheap and middling to high quality parts and build while Vauxhall is cheap because it's cheap designed cheap built cheaper. Hahahaha if i ever drive a Vuaxhall on purpose I will expect to be banned from here within minutes of me notifying you.
jeebowhite
Haha, I had to drive the astra and it was sickening at best. I don't think anything on the modern market matches the new mondeo (beyond of course the higher likes of jag and bigger more expensive motors) but as it stands mondeo is and will hopefully remain to be the best value family motor on its equivalent market. I could only think the nearest runner up would be the kia optima
Nathan_M
I went on a bit of a trip in my mates Vuaxhall astra one of the newer ones, and I can safely say the best part of that car was getting out of it and back into my 10 year old fiesta, that speaks volumes. Hahaha, the only upside to the Vuaxhall vs an equivalent focus of the same age and spec is that the Vuaxhall engine is alot quieter at idle but sounds like it's about to throw rods under load. I only have 3 manufacturers in mind for my next motor, Ford, Volvo or Mazda.

chrisroberson99
The current Mondeo is so dated though. The Insignia is a better choice at the moment. But hopefully that will change with the new one.
jeebowhite
I refer to the 2015 model being the best leader, as you say though the mk4 is 7 year old now... Heck mine is that!
Nathan_M
I just want a new shape focus with sync 2 forget the driving dynamics I will just sit talking to her.
Ianb
I do like the new mondeos due to come out (the ones with the same front as the fiesta atm). I like Monaro's :D Sent via carrier pigeon using Ford OC
Phil 87
I like Monaro's :D Same here, or the VXR8 I think it's now called? The only good Vauxhall, probably because the only part Vauxhall made was the badge :P Edit: and the VX220, those are good too.

Nathan_M
I'm sure there's a dating joke in there somewhere lol Thing is women and cars are just about the same you will have problems with both of them but at the end of the day the car still won't answer you back making it a safer bet.

jeebowhite
Cars can be worse than women though.... 1) if your lady isn't a shoe shopper your guaranteed to be buying at least 2 pairs of shoes regularly 2)when a woman is miffed she says nothings wrong but will eventually shout at you or you will find our, cars cost about 100 quid just to find out what's wrong with them and even then they cost a damned site more to fix 3) cars will go and go but one day you have to let go and depending on your relationship status, waving the car off is probably harder than waving off a lady I'm sure more will come to me...
