Oxide
I saved roughly £3 on buying new car washing kit, however the fun part was trying to teach the woman behind the till how to work out 15% of the bill!!! Look, take the total, then divide it by 15, and the answer is how much I have to pay!" ....
jeebowhite
Council or private car park? Council, my cars permit expired for parking in my permit controlled ward... £25 for a new permit and £25 ticket on payday (that should be today actually!) so I guess I better get paying :(

jeebowhite
Haha, if you flirt well enough with one of the employees you might be able to get them to remove more than that, then borrow it and go back after to say "sorry I'm not sure it's going to work" or start a new romance If it does lol.

Steve
Halfrauds had better explain the use of this discount to all their staff as their Cwmbran branch havnt the foggiest. I f you are there in office hours then they can call the number on the back. To be honest it's a bit naughty of them to decline it.. they should just try and enter the discount and then scan it. go back and kick up
Ianb
Ok, got quite a good saving :D Went to Halfords today with my fiancée, she was after a couple bits for her dad, we picked up a torch for £19.99 and a power inverter which was labelled as £7.99.. Got to the checkout they scanned it all, scanned the card eventually and came to a total discount of £6.60 (or there abouts) - I thought that was interesting but didn't question it as my fiancée would not have been impressed if I'd upped her bill Anyway I heard the total price, didn't think and she paid, we walked out and it dawned on me - "we've been ripped off!" I checked the receipt and the inverter was down for £24 (ish). I rushed back in there receipt waving They weren't quite sure how to sort the problem so what they did was refund the entire amount then start again, this was then they realised they'd actually mislabelled the inverter, so the price was overridden and changed to £7.99.. so total savings today: roughly £20 (only £4.20 from the card though )
leetomdocherty
I think they're a bit simple in my local Halfords. I went in this afternoon to test my shiny new discount card, picked up some cleaning stuff marked at £4.99, took it to the till and after about 2 minutes staring at the card and turning it over in his hands (I didn't say anything I thought I'd see if he could figure it out himself) he just knocked £1.50 off and sent me on my merry way.

Fella at checkout said we don't except them, my response you do! proceeded to take card and have a closer look and realises its legit and moans that they where not informed about them. Whilst i just stood there smirking saying you do take them or i would have produced it! :P

Just my luck when the person on the check out recently went to work it out all very puzzled and flustered they were assisted by some mental mathematics genius near by! Did it right to the penny too!!! Lol... Sent via carrier pigeon using Ford OC

jeebowhite
haha, I saved 45p the other day :D To reaffirm what the other guys have said, they need to work out 15% (easiest way is work out 10%, then half it, then add them together - seriously, some staff need this reminder :p) Then they click "Voucher" enter the amount they worked out, and then scan the code on the back of the card. Simples.
SeanW
STOP THE PRESSES I have found a store where an employee knew what to do!! Despite having never seen one before!!! The store: Louth Not the biggest in the world, but the lad seemed to have his head screwed on!! I shared one or two of your experiences with him, and he responded "Idiots. It's not exactly difficult!" He then said he has something else his fellow employees obviously haven't...common sense lol
Goodkat
I have used mine twice in the week I have had it. First time, I had £1.50 knocked off a £5.00 bill, second time £1.50 knocked off a £10 bill. Neither time did the staff know about it. I love the discount, but Halfords need to train the staff better. Philf1
We could put Halfords out of business if we keep getting these random larger amounts knocked off
