What Is My Car Obdi Or Obdii?

Hi all, so ive bought myself a obdII bluetooth reader to use the torque app on my 2002 130bhp mondeo BUT although it fits fine it wont work! Im not a happy bunny to say the least!! Ive read on the net that its obdI, does anybody know??

ObdII was mandatory on all petrol European cars from 2001 and diesels from 2003.

If your car is diesel then it will still be obd not obdII.

Yh its a 2002 2.0tdci 130bhp. Does this mean i can buy something so i can use the torque app?

to be honest its quite possibly OBDII

A friend at work has a 1.6tdci Fiesta, I used my OBDII on his fine.

If you already have it, plug it in and give it a go with Torque, worst that happens is that it doesnt work, its only a few quid so it shouldnt be too bad!

Iv had a go but it wont work it says problems with protacol? Works fine on the wifes a3

Ah ok, in which case it appears its probably using the OBDI protocol, in which case you would probably have to go about buying the OBDI bluetooth device.
