Philf1
I'm blaming the heat! Looking at both mobile and body shops to get it fixed, luckily I have a spare wheel, but want it done before Ford Fair cause I can't stand the micky taking you lot are going to hand out. I'm off now to cry in the corner sob sob.
jeebowhite
people have repaired the likes of this cheaply themselves, but I have a company about to repair mine for £50 for one wheel :)

jeebowhite
haha :D I have to admit, I am contemplating buying some bits and refurbing my own wheels. Maybe even spray them gunmetal grey :D costs about £30 for the parts on average and I have seen some pretty fine results! although if I do proceed with this, I can only imagine the humourous statemy car will take whilst I work on each one. I have a misfit alloy (from a MK3 Mondeo) that will be on there, then I might have say one or more gunmetal wheels on whilst the others are silver :D haha
Philf1
Wheel refurbed this morning done a great job. The guy matches the paint by eye and it's absolutely bob on can't tell the difference. Took him about 1 hour and cost £50 so I'm a happy driver once again. Before and after pics below. I came across a mobile guy once working on a Jaguar. He had like a large deck of cards, pushed them in to the tyre bead and with a quick rub down, spray and some beefy looking heat lamps, it looked like a factory job. His insurance covered the cost too which was £50 a corner.
kpg
£50 for one wheel is kinda steep. The guy who does mine is £30 a wheel and £100 for all four :)
jeebowhite
Hi Kiefer, it tends to depend on the size of the wheel! I got mine done £50 for one wheel, the average around here is £75! But at the same place, any 17's or above are an extra 20 - 30 per inch!

But at the same place, any 17's or above are an extra 20 - 30 per inch! That is true about the size. The alloys I got done were 18" Mondeo TitX editions, great price I think. Look great on my Focus mk2 ;)
gazza01
I would like to do mine myself does anyone know a good kit to DIY?
jeebowhite
No need for a kit, you need alloy putty, sandpaper, primer, paint and laquer. I haven't found a kit online that looks worth buying for the cost of one kit it either misses half the stuff or uses terrible looking parts, or the others you could refurb 4 wheels for the price of
