Lenny
Hi all, Some of you have already heard of the guys at mightycarmods, personally im a huge fan, The guys have began a build thread uploading one video per day to Youtube, I figured id create a thread on here and add a link to there daily video to share support for the guys aswell as make other people aware of MightyCarMods and the legacy of videos the guys have created over the past 3-4 years on YouTube. I must say im not a fan of Moog's acting drunk skills but marty is doing well with keeping it cool and informative, anyways, here starts the daily update enjoy.

Hassen
Schweet! Love the show and the guys. Pretty epic build this one. They keeps saying its next level and I think turbocharging that engine is bringing their game up. Honestly impressed by Turbo Yoda aka Allan with his wealth of car engineering knowledge. The amount of fabrication in this car is insane. I just hope they get a smarter interior and get a nicer bodykit on the car. Think with this amount of power, being stealth will be a bit of a waste on this car. Just my 2 cents :P

Just my 2 cents :P the build is getting me all motivated for another project ah well perhaps in three years time ill be in a position to undertake a new one, I must say though, Regarding the build, The exhaust work manifold, external waste gate, braided hoses, size of the turbo and its positioning, Absolutely fantastic engineering the exhaust work itself is a masterpiece
Hassen
You never know Lenny. It might be sooner than you anticipate. I thought after the birth of my son that the car would take a total back seat in my list of to do things but after he turned 2, I started having more time to work on the car and slowly got to sorting out the sound system.:)

Hassen
Well said Lenny. At least you have a plan. I just make it up as I go along :PBack on topic. What do you reckon would be the amount of horsepower from the engine once they are done? My guess is upwards of 400bhp!

Lenny
Epic You know its gonna be a beast when Turbo yoda is taking a feed from one of the rear wheels, for the speed sensor as the fronts are subject to quite alot of spin Half way through the video i was thinking "why dont they mandrel to bend a single length of pipe for intercooler and cat back exhaust instead of multiple welds on 2" lenghts but bu the end of the video when turbo yoda said it is mightycarmods, it is doing it with what you've got and achieving results ive realised he is 100% correct and with that said, the time taken to measure each individual section and weld it all up to a custom fit length takes around 7 hours longer than a mandrel bend, its old skool method and a work of art, Only thing i would have done differently to date is: The replacement dial screen, id have gotten a sheet of carbon fibre, Cut to shape of stock dial and custom fitted some 22mm rocker switch sized indicator and engine warning light icons from eBay with the chrome surrounds, The old speedo and tacho are now surplus dead weight in the car, i reckon custom indicator lights would be better and still appear stock from looking in the window, So thats the last video update for a while, Im sure Marty will have quite an emotional 1300km journey home, leaving turbo yoda, mechanical stig, moog and the guy from haltec behind, yes he's got the epic gramps taking him home to sydney but a build like this is a fun shared experience, not as much fun at the end when its just you and the car, Also feel sorry for turbo yoda building it and having to watch it drive away, i would find it difficult going back to regular turbo swapping in work the next day after spending 3 weeks working on a mammoth build such as gramps, Now for those of you whom have just encountered MightyCarMods from reading this thread, Heres another great video called "Kei to the city" its a fantastic single episode where the guys went to japan and built there version of a drift car, Ill keep this thread updated when episode 8 of gramps returns, Stay Tuned or atleast tastefully modified :)

Hassen
I agree with you Lenny. It will be a lonely trip back for Marty. That car, once tuned, is gonna be a beast. From the outside, it doesn't look too modded. The only give away is the sound from the exhaust. Love how the springs are pink and donated from another car. Bilstein shocks ftw! I plan on getting them at some point for my car...next year :PKei to the City is a wicked movie. All shot over 2-3 days I think and such an emotional story as well.Well worth a watch. Also, the soundtrack to it is pretty awesome. It went Number 1 in a few countries on iTunes. Not for everyones taste but also worth a listen, especially the last track in the movie. Enjoy :)
