Jerky Acceleration

say im rolling in gear at 30mph,if i press the throttle progressively, nothing will hapen for the first 3mm and then it will jerk, theres no smooth delivery of power.

the only thing i can think of is the air box,its not held on tightly as 3 of the 5 screws or w/e are threaded so i can literally half remove the top cover by hand.Or could it be anything to do with the MAF or anything else inside it?Also dont like the way it coasts along it feels jerky in itself and the revs appear to stick although im not 100% as ive only done about 300 miles in it over the last 2 months :P

i've had a split intercooler pipe on the focus and it didnt jerk but i presume thats a different thing.

When i stab the throttle in neutral it makes the sporty sound it has but you can hear a tssss but its not there throughout the reving. I'll post a video of the sound.

any ideas?

Sounds more like one or more of, plugs, leads or coil pack corroded. Will cause it not to run smoothly and effectively lag on power, once under heavy load it will pick up better.

Not sure how to post a video from phone.not entirely sure if the plugs in good or bad condition, the don't look like originals so they've been changed at some point which is good I guess

Those plugs are dead lol the white on the tip is corrosion the rest is just rust. Get some Bosch ones off eBay for £18 a set of 4.

No idea dude. Tbh it's not something I've ever looked at. Normally I just put X car spark plugs into eBay and buy whatever comes up. Give it a whirl and see if it says the gaps under the listing info.
