M4RC
Does this soundproof/heatproof stuff really need to be there? I think it's just because it's a diesel and there's more heat produced whereas the petrols have an engine cover instead?. I've just bought a j1 induction kit and wondering if it would be louder without this. Also I was considering putting rs vents on the bonnet bit I'm not sure if it would be ok for water to get in the engine bay?? Cheers

Clarky2013
I've removed mine on the st, will put it back on in winter. It Does make induction noise a bit more noticeable

SandyCat
I think it's more to do with soundproofing. Enough heat would get trapped under the bonnet as it is.
MattDRX
The engine regulates the temp itself, it's for noise reduction.
