I don't have the MP upgrade. I have run out of money lol. Plus, despite the benefits of the MP upgrade (I have driven one with it), I don't find myself thinking the standard setup is not acceptable and never noticed any flat spots.

I had the Mk6.5 ST back in the day. Now that did suffer from flat spots so I got a K&N 57i induction kit which helped. The other day, the A38 was pretty much empty and nothing behind me so I dropped to 40mph in sixth then floored it.

The engine didn't labour. Instead, there was mere hints of turbo as it gradually built up revs and came into the band where 6th was more comfortable and started to really pick up then.

Your bum will loose grip of the seat before your car looses grip of the road, FACT.

forget about the old ST this is a totally different beast.

Enjoy!!!

Welcome to the ST club, you're going to love the car :). As others have said just be careful especially round corners. It's surprising just how quickly you can pick up speed in this thing so you might end up going faster than you planned into a corner.

As for g-force, in low gears it really pulls you into the seat, especially in 2nd (I haven't tried flooring it in 1st yet). But it pulls well in all gears, even 6th, from about 2k revs all the way to the limit.

It's amazing isn't it, I couldn't stop smiling for like a week after I got mine :). It still brings a smile to my face whenever I go and get in it.

just to be devils advocate...I would say spend some time in standard and mountune, Ive driven both at length when I was considering an ST and honestly not convinced its worth it.

if you want it just to 'know' you've got that bit extra power and torque, and the badge of course, then fair enough....and I believe a lot of owners have it for that reason - but as a performance upgrade it's hardly massive. psychology being what it is, people who own it will always earnestly believe it makes more difference that it possibly does, that's just one of those human things.

And don't forget despite everyone quoting £600, there is actually labour on top of that to install it (for most people, yes I know some will buy the car with it or get some super splendid deal etc..but for most they won't), which seemingly varies from £75 up to £150 depending on dealer. And an insurance increase. And the fact the badge has a decent chance of getting forcibly removed off your car with a screwdriver in short effect.

If I was buying an ST I think I'd leave it in it's fantastic standard state, or wait for a more substantial upgrade. Just my opinion, before the mountune crowd descend on me like rabid dogs!!!

Next sunday my mp215 is going to be traded in and im getting a standard st3. Ive had the mp215 for around 2 months driving every day so I really know they ins and outs of how it behaves. Im going to drive my new car for a few weeks to see the difference without the mountune upgrade, so hopeful can give you a really good idea!

Think I might take the mountune airbox, K&n filter and 2nd hose off my current car to see if the dealer notices

Actually that's evil , I wont <_<
