Hmm, interesting! Will deffinately look into this. Is it common for dealers to fit these, and does it void warranty?

Mountune and Ford are related in some way, basically anything from Mountune wont void any of your ford warrantys

Mountune are the only company ford allow modify the range without voiding anything.

Thanks all for the replies.

Just hit a bit of a snag, can't get any time off so can't collect on the 1st.

Problem is the tax runs out on the zs last day of August but wont be able to collect until the 5th.

I don't really want to tax the zs for the sake of a few days but need a car for work.

Only two ways out of it really and that is that the dealer can lend me a car or get the st registered on a 14 plate and collect it sooner.

time to make a call see what the dealer can do.

How expensive is going to a hire company for 5 days? Maybe your circumstance is something dealers have come across before and have the option to lend a car to you for a few days.

over here you can drive for up to two weeks without tax,

But if caught without it then you must produce a tax disc within two weeks to cover that date,

Surely its the same over there?

Chance it for the few days if caught then you will need to tax it for the minimum term,

Chanced of being stopped though,

I'd explain your problem to the dealer and ask for a courtesy car. It's the least they can do really considering how much money you're giving them. Ford dealers always tend to give courtesy cars just when you take your car in to have something fixed. Mine was in for 2 days while they tried to diagnose a noise it was making which turned out to be nothing, wasn't charged anything but they gave me a courtesy car for 2 days. So they should do that for you really, worth a try.

Just rang the dealer and left a message for the salesman ,he's out on a test drive with someone at the moment.

Why not just tax it, get rid of the car and then claim the remaining tax back via the usual refund process?

Not sure mate to be honest.

Just know if you tax it within two weeks its back dated to cover you from day 1 that you didn't have it if you get me,

So if you had an accident say tax is in post,

Pay tax that day and be covered from day 1

May be different in uk

Congratulations! Great all these STs on the road.

Ford are really walking them out now - I wonder what the number on the road will read by the end of this plate. I'm guessing past the 9k mark.

Oh and don't drive without tax as those ANPR cameras in the police cars will get you - sods law. Yes you will have the car taken off you as they will say you have no insurance as in your insurance policy it will state your only insured to drive a taxed and road worthy car.

Yes sods law will prevail knowing my luck,i spoke with the dealer and we decided the sensible thing to do is tax it then when i pick the st up remove the zs tax disc and get a refund.

Lol, I bet we'll have enough Phils to start an owners club before long, it'll be like all those orange Focus STs at Ford Fair :)
