Anyone changed their ST bulbs yet? How do you go about it? Do you need to remove the whole light unit like in the ZS?

Hey new to all this forum was just wondering would you recommend them bulbs for my fiesta ST2? I want a bright white lights! Also where did you buy them from?

They were Redline bulbs on eBay Smurphy..

Think you can go to Redline direct but i saw them in eBay first, pretty fast delivery too.. I'm going to get a full set once i sorted a faulty fog light unit, and one the previously used main beam H1 was broken.

I've never understood the whole change-your-lights thing. Have never had a problem with standard lights, certainly never to the point where I'd waste time and money changing them.

Each to their own and all that.

Stock bulbs are always terrible.

Upgraded bulbs look better and are a major improvement on light quality plus they enhance safety.

The only pay off is that better bulbs don't last as long.

I agree to some extent, but I'm a bit on the fence about bulbs. On one hand it would be easy and cheap for me to just swap some whiter bulbs in just for looks, but on the other hand I'm reluctant to do anything to my car that would mean it's not road legal, or that would void the warranty (I know bulbs wouldn't affect the warranty but I'm thinking about mods in general).

The only thing I don't like about the standard bulbs is the yellow light they give off, but I agree better bulbs set up properly would be safer at night. But what is worse, having standard bulbs that make your car look like 95% of other cars on the road, or having nice looking bulbs but a car that wouldn't pass an MOT? I know the MOT is kind of a non-issue for new cars but I just don't like the idea of driving a car which technically isn't road legal, just my opinion, and like I said I'm on the fence so I might try some other bulbs and can easily change back.

I think I've found some bulbs I might try which are actually road legal (or so they say). Would these be ok?:

Am I right in thinking these can just be swapped in, and would the colour temp be about the same as the DRLs?

Phil these bulbs are excellent, still road legal, still yellow colour so match the DRL's but they are very bright , so a great upgrade! :)

and yeah straight swap

When you say yellow, do you mean the same yellow as the DRLs? I've seen that the DRLs look slightly yellow when compared to HIDs but I'd be happy with that colour if they match, considering the standard bulbs look very yellow compared to the DRLs.

And how easy are they to fit, do you have to take out the whole headlight? I think the driver's side one might have enough of a gap to swap it without taking the whole unit out.

Edit: on eBay it says these bulbs are "up to 4000K", does anyone know what colour temp the DRLs are meant to be?

DRLs I believe are 4200K mate but I got the same bulbs as you and their perfect match near enough mate :) good choice!!
