ploppydave
Hi, Can anyone lend assistance with the removal of the inner security panel on my 1800tdci, 58 plate? The electric window has dropped slightly and as such I need to get to it. Apart from removing pop rivets etc, is there another way to get this off without dismantling the car? Assistance would be gratefully appreciated.... Dave.
Stoney871
The window motor is mounted to the plate. You need to drop the glass half way until you see the clamping bolts through the holes in the panel. Remove the glass and rivets and the panel will be removable. I'll give you a download link to a Haynes manual, everything you need to know is in section 11.
Stoney871
The manual is for a MK2 but window systems (and about 80% of the car) are the same. https://www.dropbox.com/s/29gw7sebz6fddj7/Ford%20Focus%202005%20to%202009%20Haynes%20PDF%20Manual.pdf?dl=0
Lenny
See my guide here fitting ford logo projector puddle lights, The guide includes removing window no need to remove steel panel to remove window, The window must come out before steel panel comes off. See Guide: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/46244-guide-fitting-ford-projector-puddle-lights-mk2-mk25-focus-05-12-front-doors/ Heres an extract: To start I've rolled out the 5m of cable and tapped one end on to a length of plastic pipe to make it easy to fish through holes and grommets Remove all surrounding bolts except for one top centre, keep this bolt in place until you are ready to catch/support the panel in your hands.
