Mental_Atom
As you're all probably fed up of hearing by now, my new ZS is arriving at the end of October. My old driving instructor who I finally managed to get hold of owes me some money (in the region of £100-130) which I am now finally going to get back off him! I would also like to allocate this money to doing some little bits to my car when it finally arrives. So... Within a budget of £100-130, tell me what mods you would do/items you would buy (not performance related, so cosmetic mods/bulbs and stuff) for that money. One thing I think I'll probably go for is the lockwood scuff plates, but past that I'm open to suggestions. I can get my shopping list ready :D

Willy
Some decent bulbs so you can see were your going at night. Osram Night Breakers or Philips X-treme Vision. There much better than what comes with the car.
Adam1991
i would go with some decent bulbs again, osram night breakers i like :) and some wind deflectors, some decent matts ( if you already ahve some ) then some ford owners stickers! :) bit of money left over some gel badges too and a phone holder. I find theres no where decent to put your phone!
Willy
a phone holder. I find theres no where decent to put your phone! I keep mine in my pocket :p

Mental_Atom
bulbs are firmly on the list... So far: Sidelights: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-W5W-Osram-Halogen-Cool-Blue-Intense-Sidelight-Bulbs.html?bulb_search=car Dipped Lights: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H7-OSRAM-Night-Breaker-Unlimited-110-Upgrade-Xenon-Headlight-Bulbs-pair.html?bulb_search=car Also, in as a maybe... Indicators: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/581-Philips-Silver-Vision-indicator-bulbs.html?bulb_search=car I can't see much in terms of upgrades for the main beams, do people have any recommendations? In terms of a phone holder I think I'm fine, as much as I'll have a sat-nav if I need it, I'd far rather have no extra screens in the car if I can help it as it's just one more distraction. Another reason Sync will be so good :)

I never knew the world of car bulbs was so complex... Thanks though, you're incredibly helpful! Unfortunately I'm going to reward you with more questions though! Might look at those Cree bulbs for reverse/fogs, though I'm in no hurry to change the fog lights as we don't get fog terribly often. Can go on the to-do list though! Erm, yeah I was thinking of changing the footwell lights, what do you mean by courtesy lights? Unfortunately, as a professional web developer I can't possibly buy anything from a site that looks that bad :D Is it an easy swap? Are the map/registration/boot lights hard to change? And finally (this is a more general question), what classes as "good" for car mats these days? Fabric, rubber?
Paramanic
Anytime mate :) Yeah fogs (also reverse) are usefull but last thing really and courtesy lights is the light above you inside the car when u open the door the light turns on a changed mines to blue and looks awesome and believe it or not his bulbs are amazing quality bud (forget the page or maybe you can make him a new one get bulbs for free!) Haha all the interior lights are simple to change the map lights are same as courtesy a flat headed screw driver and a bit of shuffleing and it comes of easy once you got the nack n boot light is worth the change to the long one as it's very bright! And very easy just pop it out with screwdriver and the smaller ones are amazingly bright so put them in map lights so bright seems like a bright day The registration lights are a little harder but still easy you just put a small flathead screwdriver push the metal clip in and the sealed unit comes out you twist the light unit then it will come out and a straight swap then put back in twist and push back into the consealed unit then put them back in car I used the small led (same as map lights) in registration lights and lights up well I got the fiesta car mats in my car when I got it there fabric ( tuff tho) and will keep them most year but when council puts the grit down am putting rubber in :) (ps know how you feel when u see something gumf in ur profession .....I am (when I feel like it now) professional game tester and seeing all the games that are marketing towards teens now.....same feeling)

So the footwell lights are just a single bulb to change? Might go for the white ones and then with the map lights too it'll be as bright as day in the car haha! I'll need sunglasses B) So other than mats and those other mats you linked, do you have any more comsmetic mod recommendations that aren't bulbs? Paramanic
Yeah one light per footwell and no cover or anything just straight swap mate a suggest the small and ones (eBay link) they would keep car very bright Lol and in registration too! Also get longer one for boot . Unfortunately you won't be able to swap the glove box light because the led lights r too big but I already had a Philips white wedge laying around that did the trick http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111233035494&alt=web (easy to put in just pull it out (the unit ) and change the bulb makes it look whiter Oh that's what you mean the link I gave are cup holder mats and door storage mats need alterning to fit but looks good I think al show a pic tomorrow if a can (still working atm) but do look nice ye can get white ones that glow in dark too (click link to see because not feet car mats) Erm other mods Car door sills you can get them from Ford dealer (expensive ) or eBay and some eBay ones do look nice too just need to look I've still to buy them (skint already changed my front grill to Zs grill etc) And last of all a wee cheap one I bought it but waiting on it coming .....taking a while http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2649-fiesta-car-stickers-carnival-car-stickers-carbon-fiber-brake-light-refires/1595370139.html
