19nm87
Hi everyone, I have a 2001 focus 1.4 16v. Problem is it won't start, its definitely sparking but seems there's no fuel getting through..so first thought was the fuel pump had gone. However when I put a diagnostics machine on it, it came up saying fuel pump was OK. So now I'm confused. Is there anything else it could be? PS..all fuses have been checked fuel pump reset button been done and still nothing
SufferingSue
Diagnostics on my 1.8 Focus didn't show a bad pump either, but changing it cured the starting problem. Worth noting the pump connects to the second and the last pin on the block looking IN from left to right. On the new pump there was no pin in slot one, so be carefull when testing. Preferredmysierra
Do you hear the pump prime the engine when you turn the ignition to position 2 without starting the car? If not, then I'd agree with the above. Fairly easy job to change the pump, and should get one pretty cheap on eBay.
