williaz
Hi everyone I recently bought my wife a 2005 1.6 petrol focus zetec automatic. The car is getting very warm inside on the dashboard around the driver's knees after driving for more than 20 minutes. If it's just a short trip it doesn't appear to heat up. I checked the engine and coolant and oil are fine. The engine did seem hotter than expected overall though when I popped the bonnet. The car has 75,000 miles on it. I suspect the water pump may be failing a bit or a blockage but the engine water temp doesn't seem to be high. I'm considering a cambelt and water pump change (was going to do it regardless) but not sure if this is the problem or possibly something else? I've checked through the forums but not found an answer. Anyone ever come across this? Thanks
artscot79
Sounds to me like its the heater blowing hot air you may have turned the knob to cold but the wire behind this can come loose feel under the steering wheel the vents would blow on her feet and knees as for the engine being hot they do run hot on modern emgines so i wouldnt read much into that
