I placed an order back end of last week and got confirmation of it this morning.

I've gone for the Hybrid as its a company car. Frozen White, Titanium with X Pack, Front and Rear parking sensors.

Apparently it's due first week of April, so got a few months to wait :(

Will be my first Mondeo since I had a 55 plate ST TDCI so looking forward to coming back to the blue oval!

Oh I'd love a Mondeo hybrid! The hybrid model is a saloon too so will look even more sleek and premium IMO

Seen my first 2015 Mondeo today and it was beautiful! was on back of a lorry with no plates on it look like a high up version as it had very large wheels and 2 large exhausts built into the rear was white too with looked like a glass roof but that's all I saw I tried taking a pic but he pulled behind me i had no chance

My first Mondeo was a US Fusion in Turkish Cyprus! Looking forward to seeing the UK Version on the roads.

Popped by a dealership today to have a sit inside the New Mondeo.

Very nice.

(From pics/vids I've seen of the US Fusion, I think in black with leather seats, and larger wheels its a fantastic looking Ford. Cover the badges up and some would think it was a much higher class of car).

I like it! Not keen on the wheels though.

Nope, me neither.

This is what the US Titaniums look like....

Very nice! They have some nice wheel combos too! Have you seen their range of Foci?

They even have a turquoise colour on their Focus, why couldn't we have that here?!?

I was driving home from doing a bit of shopping this afternoon and happened to go past the new Lookers Ford showroom in Chelmsford, Essex. They are having some sort of "Tech" event and low and behold they had this sitting on the forcourt 😃

I explained to the chap that I had ordered one, but not actually seen one yet. He was kind enough to let me have a look around it, but wouldn't stretch to a test drive sadly.

This is the Mondeo Hybrid Titanium X (in Frozen White) with every single possible extra on it 👍

Ordered my new Mondeo on 5th NOVEMBER 2014 from my local Ford dealership (UK).

Hoping to get the car for 1st March.

Visited the dealership last Monday (19th Jan) and told car build date is MID-FEBRUARY.

WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that ordering the car early in November, I had every chance to get the car for 1st March.

I AM NOW BEING TOLD TO EXPECT IT MID-MARCH.

I am NOT a happy bunny.

Sadly so, they have a backlash and orders stemming back months. Sadly the dealers are aware of delays and they do not share the information as they are concerned of losing the sale, rather than taking your business to the next one down the road, or another brand, they would rather have you sign, play the game, then eventually fess up when it's not here for when you expected it...

Not really that bad if I'm honest. You can't expect everything to run smoothly when it's an all new model.

Mid March is only another 2 weeks on the wait, it'll be worth it.

This is by way of "hello" and looking for a bit of help.

The "Hello" bit; Bought a 2015 Mondeo estate, Magnetic colour, 150ps 2L diesel manual, Titanium with the Sony Sync system.

Got it 2 days ago, done 200 miles so far.

Ex Mondeo owner, traded the last one in for a RRS, drove that for 50k miles, bought another RRS (2011) have run that for 50k miles, times are tough in the oilfield, have gone back to the Mondeo (saving money)

I'm stunned.

This car is as quiet as the RRS, _much_ smoother on the road. I think a lot of that is to do with the stupid 20" wheels on the RRS and the big tyres on the eco tech Mondeo, but whatever it is, the Mondeo has a better ride than the RRS.

I travel to a town inland a lot, 40 miles of twisty, hilly A roads. It is a quite sporty drive, so sporty that the first RRS had the brakes on fire more than once and the previous Mondeo had drastic brake fade on a couple of the downhill corners.

Last RRS never lost the brakes but you could smell they had been working (so, I'm not the slowest driver on the planet, and "work" the vehicle.)

I don't have an ounce of mechanical sympathy left in my body and don't believe that modern cars need run in. so, soundly thrashed the new estate inland today . . .good grief that was impressive. Now, you have to understand where I'm coming from, I've been driving a couple of tonnes of 4x4 for quite a few years, not slow 4x4 but still . . .one thing you have to understand with the RRS, you don't "drive off" it's closer to you "set sail" it'll go where you want, . . as long as you are not too fussy about exacty where that is . .

The online reviews all said the new car is not as "sharp" on the steering as the old Mondeo (and the way they ALL say that makes me think we are reading the words of sheep) the "ECO Tech" (with heouwge tyres) is waaaaaay sharper than the RRS with painted on rubber an crashy suspension in the directional control department (I can say that with 100k miles of experience)

The power side, ok so it's listed as 150ps on a 2l diesel, I was expecting to be using a calendar for the 0-60 times, nope, it rips on like a good un, on the twisty back road I had the confidence to overtake the usual collection of coffin dodgers and the car leapt past with the same grace as the RRS, only caveat being, be in the right gear (a challenge as I'm a bit out of practise with the "gear" thing)

It's quiet, comfortable, handles and brakes excellently has enough performance for a middle aged hooligan, I'm hugely impressed. coming from what I have been driving for the last age, that is fairly high praise.

on the downside . . (there had to be something)

Headlights . . .ok, I understand there is an 1100 quid upgrade, but, the standard headlights are rubbish.

in fact, not even that good. I've stopped twice to check they are actually working (sadly, they appeared to be as designed) it's like 2 slightly elderly glow worms !Removed! under the bonnet, when the internal display shows "High beam" it's like the glow worms have been shown 50 shades of grey, one of them perks up a little and hey presto "High" beam . . . dismal, I genuinely have a 6 quid AA torch that does better . .

Sync, well, the voice recognition works ! (That is spectacular, I'm Scottish . . )

It is bright enough in daylight, bit dazzling at night . . (don't want to turn down the daylight settings, it doesn't come down enough at night)

Ambient temperature ? where is it ?

which leads me to the Ford online "help" that is so bad someone needs a slap, probably twice.

The RRS boys seemed to have the view that the customer probably knows best and was to be assisted.

The Ford system screams "you are a nugget, leave it alone, we know better" which after 2 days of ownership, is !Removed! me off, a bit.

I.E. how do I display outside air temp ? can I find out, nope.

Is there online help? none that I can find on page 1 of a google search (and if it's more complicated than that, Ford need to fix it.

800 x 385 native display on the Sony sync for background pictures . . . really ?

You do know it's 2015 ?

an 8" display needs more that that.

And, on the estate, the rear bumper.

I bought the RRS to let the dogs into the back, I bought the Mondeo estate for the same reason (Kids are grown up now and besides, they'd complain if I put them in the boot . . . .)

It has a heouwge, flat, shiny, painted bit, just right for the dogs to rip to bits with their paws . . erm, standard protection ? none . .

and the local dealership, good gawd, Arthur Dayley would be embarrassed to work there. The Sales guy "coaching" me on what to put on the Ford survey I would receive . . the Pre Delivery valet . Now I understand that we have to be inclusive these days and that equal opportunities apply to all, but really, employing a blind guy to do pre delivery valet . . erm, not smart.

So, The car.

Absolutely amazing.

I come from fairly high end metal and I'm hugely impressed.

it does almost everything very very well.

Drives great, quiet, quick, very impressive.

Headlights, dire.

Dealership, oh dear.

Online help, makes the dealership look good.

Could Ford do better ? The design and manufacture, I doubt it, the car is wonderful.

The dealership / online experience, lets the company down badly.

The car is what Ford wants to portray "going up market"

The dealership and online experience still smacks of "Fix Or Repair Daily" Which is not what the iron in the showrooms actually feels like.

Odd that the product is so good and the customer experience is so poor. I would have thought it would be the other way round.

Anyway, for those of you still waiting, It is (in my Humble, non balanced view) a phenomenal car. absolutely magical to drive.

Now, who do I talk to to get OAT (Outside Air Temp) to display in the car ?
