Son of Nod
What is the life span for a clutch? Been told ours is on the way out. Car only has 38,000 miles on the clock and only used for school runs etc, nothing major. This is the same mechanic who forgot to add the mod kit to the power steering pump (he wasn't aware he said).....
Stoney871
You should get a good 75000 mi - 100000 mi from a clutch. Park on an empty carpark or clear, flat area and put the car in third and try pulling away, if the engine stutters or stalls then the clutch has got plenty of life in it. troy45
Also try accelerating in top gear from pretty low revs - if the revs surge but car initially doesn't go any faster then that's another sign. But in some cases cars can be like that for years without actually getting any worse.
