funkybassman
Got a strange high pitch whistle coming through the Speakers when the radio is turned on. Seems to be linked in some way to the steering as the tone changes when there's load on the steering. No whistle when radio is off...........i'm thinking something electrical.......Any ideas folks????????
ChrisCooper
Could be some electrical noise from the electrical power steering pump getting through. Electric motors do tend to be quite noisy from an electrical point of view. Would expect there to be filters in place to get rid of noise though. Does your car have different steering settings? If so, try changing those and see if it makes a difference.

troy45
Maybe pull a fuse for the power steering system and see if the whine goes away - will probably throw up some errors and fault lights but not enough to stop you using the radio briefly. Not a good idea to try driving the car like that though. Possible there is an interference suppression capacitor or 2 in the wiring, could have failed or got a wiring problem with it.
