ben1191
Got an 55 plate 1.8tdci,does it need a calcium battery?remember reading a while back about them having smart charge or something. Europarts have battery for like £53 but it doesn't say if it's lead or calcium. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
Look for a silver calcium. Lead acid batteries combined with Ford's smart charge system will cause all manner of random power errors.
madmole
Calcium and silver batteries are all still lead based. They just have the extra metals infused in the lead plates. It affect the rate of charge and discharge, The alternator on focuses can put out a BIG charge and that can be too much for plain old lead batteries
