Keefie
years ago, (1979) bought a mk2 escort Mexico from a local dealer. When it went in for fist service at 6000 miles (shorter service intervals back then), came back early and caught grease monkey who'd serviced it doing wheel spin starts and generally being a t@@t down the road. Went in to reception and went ape s@@t. Very apologetic, but not totally convinced he'd get what was coming to him. That was a Ford dealer back then. Was very tempting to have the monkey sorted privately but resisted the temptation. Find it very hard to believe dealers nowadays.
PhillFocus
No i really dont when i had my Peugeot 207, I had a nightmare with my dealer back and forth all the time, i think in all it went to the dealer 25 times on the last ocassion i got the car back with a 1/4 tank of fuel gone, clutch slipping and blad front tyres, i didnt have the mileage when i put it in and they deleted the mileage on the system so had no proof, they in the end replaced the fuel and that was it, i drove it from there to Arnold Clark and bought a Focus i trust my Ford dealer tho because my mate works there :)
jeebowhite
There are so few dealers that can be trusted and there are so few reasons why a black box in the car is a good idea and for garage trips (along with a dash-cam) for ultimate peace of mind... Phil 87
I definitely agree that some dealers just can't be trusted, but I think I've been lucky so far. Since I moved almost a year ago I've taken my cars to the local Ford dealer quite a few times and they seem quite trustworthy. I guess you can never me sure though. At least next time my dash cam will be in, and if I watch back the videos and find any missing (ie they disconnected the camera so there's no video in between me parking the car and picking it up) then I'll get very suspicious.
