fusionfan2
When I got my 1.6 petrol Fusion a few weeks back, I asked for a cambelt, tensioners and water pump change as part of the deal, as with 94K on the clock and no record of it being done seemed essential. I have noticed a short intermittent screeching sound, literally blink and you'd miss it. Its generally: - changing up gear (particularly 2nd to 3rd) - when changing gear going up hill - under more heavy acceleration when changing gear (i.e. when I might not be quite as precise and smooth with the clutch) I'm guessing something has been over tightened, but any advice appreciated so I can look informed when I go back and ask for it to be checked. Or will it settle down? (done about 400 miles since the change) Thanks.
fusionfan2
Actually, from searching, sounds like it could be the clutch then http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/10315-normal-revs-clutch-screech/ http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/14084-clutch-squeal/
jeebowhite
Certainly sounds a like clutch issue...
fusionfan2
Yep, solution looks like precise and smooth gearchanges until it definitely needs a new clutch.
