TomsFocus
Hello! I'm slightly confused by the semi auto climate...what does it aim to do? I assumed the middle (white) area aimed to keep a constant comfortable temperature (18-22c maybe) but it seems to blow hot in any part of the white and obviously red. Move one notch into the blue and it blows freezing cold. <_< The handbook isn't overly helpful, simply stating that red is hot and blue is cold (duh...) and not really explaining the white area. I'm not bothered by full electric climate, but I've had semi-auto or 'climatic' on most previous cars. I'd just leave it set low in the middle area and it kept reasonably comfortable. But I just don't seem to be getting the same in the Focus. Am I doing something wrong lol?? Cheers Tom
luke.grimbley
My understanding is: The red area draws air through the radiator. The bule are draws air straight from outside. the whire area is half and half. Don't think there is any actual monitoring of the temperature unless you have full climate control. TomsFocus
Hmm, that sucks a bit, but does explain why there are no numbers on there. But even at the bottom of the white it doesn't appear to be 'cool' though, doesn't seem to be any difference between the white and red areas either. I'm not keen on heat (used to have temp set at 18 when I had real climate control lol) but I don't want to be freezing either, want something inbetween. Maybe I'm just too fussy lol. TomsFocus
Also, this was supposed to be in the Focus forum. Fail on my part haha.
luke.grimbley
I do agree there isn't much between the white and red. I usually have it between blue and white the my partner gets in the car and blasts the heat at full. Can hardly cope haha
TomsFocus
Lol, fortunately I usually drive alone...but that doesn't stop me freezing or frying atm.

If people get cold, they can have a blanket. If they get too hot, they can remove their coat.My other pet hate is people fiddling with MY radio!!! As for the OP's problem - tweak the direction dial so it's pointing slightly up screen. Takes a lot of the direct heat out of it.
TomsFocus
I have the direction at feet and windscreen, don't like being blown in the face lol.
SeanW
In winter I have it screen/face with the dash vents aimed at my hands on the wheel lol
