Hi everybody,

I have Escort 1997 LX Wagon. I couple of weeks ago the temperature gauge started to behave very strange.
With a worm engine the gauge arrow will go very quickly to the red zone and beyond ! The problem is intermittent. Yesterday I drove the car and the gauge was behaving the way it was suppose to.

Fluid level is OK. I also checked the electrical connections to the two heat sensors. Changed the thermostat as well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

could be the engine tempreature sensor. NOTE. there is 2 of these sensors, 1 for the ecu. and 1 for the temp gauge in the dash. i would change both cos thay r about £10-£15 each.(i may be wrong but thats where i would start)
