Hopefully JL will have a few sales in January! I can't wait to get my car audio finished! Being at work so much recently is showing me how good sound can be & it's making me jealous :(

Santa's robbed two of us by the sounds of it! It's horrible not being able to splash on the car :(

The whole setup looks so sweet. I must say the hydrodipping is really well done and imho looks nicer than the wrap. Good use of the carbon wrap for the amp.

To both Kieran and Lenny, I just got an eBay alert this morning that the price of the JL Audio Jx500/1 monoblock has been reduced. I have not checked the 250 version. Worth a look on eBay and I will dig up the link and post it. That one also comes with the optional bass cable. Pretty sweet deal. I am tempted myself to get it and sell my one lol

Glad to hear I'm not the only person liking it! Aha. I'm working on the car with every bit of free time I get! & I got the same alert Hassen! It comes with a remote boost control worth £20 free aswell! :O.. If only payday wasn't so far away :(

Thanks :)

So today I had a day off work so I decided I would Amp the front Speakers. I had already installed the power & phono cables, all I had to do was install the remote cable.

After installing everything & turning on the ignition... Nothing happened... Rather worried I checked all the cables were secure and used one of the DRL's I purchased to test for 12v as I had forgotten my multimeter. In the end I found the problem to be the remote cable. It was made so cheaply that if you tried to strip the ends it would simply snap... Wasn't happy. after fitting a new cable my ears began to smile! What a difference!!

Here are a few images of the amp in situ. Ignore the messy car... It's getting a good valet & detail in January.

take your time purchase once and enjoy the process,

I can't complain about not spending anything this month as ill make up for it between January and April  and id only be stock piling the project for May deadline,

it's well worth seeing the kids faces on Christmas morning.

Cheapest I've saw the JX250/1 Mono amp was £98.00 with free shipping and one of those controls which id personally sell onwards since the pioneer headunits give full equaliser control there's no need for it really,

My reversing camera's just arrived! :)

Don't forget to select PAL or NTSC signal on the headunit for instant image when reversing.

And earth camera to the body work.

Don't worry I've already got a shopping list for the January sales! I'm reading more and more about the items I'm wanting and I've already changed my mind about a few because I actually took the time to think before buying!

We both had the same idea about selling the 'bass controller' Lenny! Recoupe some money!

Thanks for the advice about the reversing camera! I'll have to experiment with the settings :) if it doesn't work properly then a few mouthfuls of verbal abuse should solve the problem! I tested the camera on my tv earlier using a power supply from something else. The picture isn't great, but I think it was made worse by the fact I was using it on a 1080p 42" tv & I was sat about 5 feet away from it as I couldn't be bothered to uncoil the cables. The actual quality of the unit feels quiet good! It's a heavy thing!

Off topic, but I've just decided to install Ford Microcat! I've had to install it onto a virtual machine running windows 7 32bit as my watercooled beast runs windows 8 64bit meaning it isn't compatible

I considered dual booting but if I was to do that I'd go for another 64bit OS

I still haven't had a proper chance to listen to them with a wide variety of music as i wasted most the day trying to get the amp working & I'm back at work tomorrow till Christmas, then boxing day till 6th January :(. But from what i have heard they are amazing! well worth the money! Im amazed at the frequency range that these can produce whilst still remaining crystal clear! oncei get my sub powered again ill be driving the two minute walk to work... Meaning ill have to get lost every morning giving me more chance to enjoy the fruits of my labour!

Im looking forward to replacing the rear Speakers next! They're currently just disconnected, as ive used the original plug to connect the amp to the loom. I ran out of speaker wire so icouldnt make a loom for the back doors althoughive got some on order. I still need to fine tune the EQ but its difficult to spend time on it knowing ill have to change ti again once the sub's back in action

I already recomend these Speakers to Anybody looking for a premium aftermarket system! Focal PS165F.

How much would you want per meter with p&p Lenny?

You nailed it there Kieran. The frequency range of the Focal's are pretty impressive but also, when you do tune it once the sub is installed, you will find that it needs very little eq changes as with the eq flat, it still sounds decent. I tend to like the highs a bit more so I set it up that way.

Now you understand why I want to spend my hard earned dosh on a set for the house :P

Just a warning Hassen... If you mention any projects for the car on here before you get the Speakers for your house I'll do everything I can to put you off!

The sooner you get those Speakers to better... You can review them for me ;) haha

Including shipping would be £4 for the first metre then £2 per metre after that including shipping up to a length of 5 metres as 5 is the most i can offer.

If she got me the torx screwdriver set then its buried in my back  i had to leave the family at 19:00 on Christmas day to attend a wake 328km from home of my sister's mother-in-law whom was a very descent and traditional country woman, worked the farm all her life always baked her own bread in Stanely Range and christmas pudding took 5 days with specific tweaking etc, i have huge respect for that generation of people whom are an evermore dying breed of individuals so i didn't get to build Cinderella lego palace with my eldest daughter yet but im returning home today.

Tadhg is doing well now thank God he's gone up in weight from 6-10 pounds.

Have a picture of him in santa suit on my build thread.

She was happy when i left but slowly became bitter&twisted as time went on  i got home picked up kids and went to Halfords to pick up some ring terminal connectors 2.75 minus forum discount 2.47

Got home and find I've been given a Halfords Gift Voucher from the brother in law for Christmas ugh gutted could have saved me cash.

I don't like disappointing the kids when i say ill do something i will,

Vicki reminded me while playing Harry Chapin "cats in the cradle and the silver spoon " tune on her phone _he says "remember daddy said he would build Cinderella lego castle with ya"

My backs been more/less pain free past 4 weeks, I'm off medication unless its bad,

Got nerve injection in two weeks time,

Ill be back to the project in coming weeks.

Great to hear you getting stuck into the build there Kieran. Awesome components. Love that amp you planning to buy. Also, the capacitor will help battery drain and headlights dimming. Can't wait to see it all fitted. How's the Speakers so far? Broken in yet?
