Engine Bay Rattling And Loss Of Power

Hi,

I have the KugaTit X Sport 2.0d auto. Bought it in Sept 2014 with 3,600 on clock. Since day 1 I have had a tinny rattle come from engine / transmission area. Only happens when vehicle is subject to acceleration.

Not sure if this has any bearing on your problem, except to say that my Vehicle has gone back to dealers 4 times for a total of 7 days. Each time it comes back and the technicians saying..." that that's how it is". They also tell me that other ford models are prone to this rattle. They say its down to the injectors and that the emission control legislation is to blame. Obviously they either don't know how to sort it or even care about it!!

I referred the matter to the dealership customer care but they weren't interested

I am now in liaison with Ford Customer Care and although they are keen to get it sorted they too don't seem to carry much weight with the dealerships!

I have now taken the vehicle to a second dealer for second opinion

Anyone having issues also write to Mark Ovende, MD of Ford UK

movende1@ford.com

I wrote them an email and directors office sorted a few things for me back in May. should have mentioned that a while ago.

Right, so I finally have my car back after waiting a week while they try and diagnose the problem and see if they can get the car to fault...and good news!!!

The car has been driven relentlessly over the past week or so by the mechanic who was dealing with the issues, and from what was explained to me and shown, the car finally did fault which, whilst he was driving the car, led to the power drop I had been experiencing, and the change in sound from the engine bay.

The problem was to do with the fuel injectors according to the mechanic, which explained the lack of performance, and this also stopped the MAF sensor from working which placed the car into 'limb' mode or something like that? I've never heard that term before bet never mind aha

Ford have replaced the Fuel Injectors as well as the MAF Sensor and the Filter itself and the car seems better than what she was when I drove her off the forecourt for the first time :)

I just want to say thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread and helped me along the way, whilst I tried to get the problem resolved!

I'm just so happy to finally have my car back, and to be able to put the problems behind me and move on!

Thanks all!

Limp mode, not Limb, turns it nice and weak and usually limits the revs to prevent damage from occurring or putting you in a dangerous situation it traveling at high speed.

Glad it's sorted though dude, go out now and hit those speed limits.

Great news!!!

That is the exact issue I had on my ST aswell, faulty injector. Creates that loud rattling over the normal engine sound.

Glad its all sorted, now enjoy the car :D
