Hello all you clever owners

right the thing i had happen this morning was

i attempted to start engine and it was a bit rough and immediately konked out

so i tried again and noticed a warning message telling me to start engine with some acceleration

so i pushed my foot down on accelerator pedal and started engine and all was fine

car drove lovely and smooth as usual

SHOULD I BE WORRIED or is it just a glitch because it was !Removed! cold ??

thanks for looking

probably the fuel filter starting to clog up, so by putting your foot down, you increase the pressure and the fuel flow.

Check when the car last had a fuel filter change, and your probably best to get one done.

The Focus MK2/MK2.5 Petrol versions do not have a fuel filter that needs to be changed. There is only a strainer in the fuel tank on the inlet side of the fuel pump but this is not a maintenance part. The strainer is part of the fuel pump assembly and can not be changed seperately.

My mk2 focus 55 plate had a fuel filter in the engine bay as Ford changed it for 160 i believe. I thought the mk2.5 was when they changed the filter method.

hi thanks for replying

yes i looked at my manual and there is NO fuel filter so i will have to keep an eye if it happens again

hopefully just a glitch

thats the problem with a titanium all electric and sensors for everything

the other silly little thing that happened to me was when i got new shiny bolts for my wheels

took off old and replaced with new one at a time

then next morning i started engine and display warning said i had a power steering problem (and i couldn't move the wheels)

i turned off engine and started again and everything is fine and still is

so silly little glitches (fingers crossed)

thanks guys for responding to me
