jdsheff
Hello people, just a quick question. How do I remove the sails which hold the tweeters? Is it a case of putting the window down and them pulling off? I dont want to go ripping them off and breaking them. Its a MK2 5 door focus. Thanks guys! Stoney871
They just pull off. Open the door and just pull directly towards you.
jdsheff
Stoney871 thankyou ever so much for the reply. I was going to attempt fitting new components in this weekend. The front grill of the tweeter seems to move but I stopped as I didnt want that breaking aswell. Iv seen the 'how to' on removing door cards and stereo upgrades but fails to mention the tweeters just rip off. Kind regards. Joe
Stoney871
They're usually just held on with small metal clips with teeth on them. They should look something like this-
jdsheff
Absolutely spot on mate. Would you say I need a small flat head screwdriver? Should I start at the top of the tweeter or lowrr down on the inside door part? Nothing much I can break then? When removing the door card, should the tweeters be the first thing moved/remove out of the way? Thankyou again Best regards. Joe
Stoney871
The worst you may do is scrape a plastic tab or two unless you yank on it like a church bell ;) I would say remove the tweeter before the door card as the casing curves over the sill and may hinder removal.
