Mk2: Centre Seat Belt

Hi folks - newb here.

I'm not much of a Ford man; more often seen on the Volvo forums. However the Mrs has a year 2000 Mondeo 2. The centre back seat belt has locked up with the seat folded down. I've read a lot of stuff about some kind of interlock between the latch and the inertia reel but can't find the release catch some folk have mentioned.

Is there a solution to this problem - which seems very common - that doesn't involve finding a seat at a scrapper?

I have the seat out but it's still trapped by the reeled-in belt. I'm not sure what the next move is.

Any advice appreciated.
