Ianb
Anyone know where I can get some fairly decent waterproof ones? I'm not looking to pay the earth... in fact if I can get them for £15-20 I'd be thrilled, I just can't stand these 'splash proof' types... I stick something like that on the seats, wet dog jumps in, get dog out later move the cover and there is a damp area where it's soaked through!!!! Any suggestions would be great. Also... I just rug doctored my seats (bad time of the year I know, but they were bad and I had the rug doctor handy sooo...yeh...) and anyway, I have to go pick up the future mother in law... so having a dry patch to sit on might be better
alexp999
You can get universal waterproof covers that provides a well in the backseats for dogs. It just hangs off the headrests.
Ianb
Had one of those universal 'sheets' (supposedly waterproof)... Two problems.... The little rat ruffles it all up until she's lying on the seat, or she lies on it and puts up with it and it just soaks through. I think it was something very cheap from Asda though, so maybe that's the problem...

SeanW
Those Asda ones aren't fantastic. The fronts don't fit quite well enough and tear easily. Not a clue what the backs are like. They are waterproof to an extent, but if you sit on it then it will seep through.

SeanW
I learnt that the very hard way when I got lathered in water contaminated with diesel Carplan Interior Valet spray foam stuff is really good lol
Ianb
Used a rug doctor today, got up lots of grub but I figure when the hot weather comes I'm gonna have to have the seats out and really work on them! SeanW
I've used the Rug Doctor a couple of times in the car. Best method I've found so far: 1. Hoover the car out thoroughly. Use a small stiff bristled brush on the carpet as well 2. Use one of those foam upholstery cleaners with the small brush again on the seats and carpets 3. Use the Rug Doc. I haven't tried the Car Upholstery cleaner, just some left over carpet shampoo 4. Hoover again once dry I did have a mahoosive diesel stain on the drivers seat (see above lol). Absolutely no visible trace of it any more!!
Ianb
Wow that sounds great! I'll have to go out and see what the seats look like today. Unfortunately it was a very very quick wash... Maybe 5mins a seat (max!). I started at 8:50 and the cleaner had to be back at 10:30 so I needed to re-clean it etc, so it was a bit of a last ditch effort... We'll have the rug doctor back in the near future so I'll sort it then (: Sent via carrier pigeon using Ford OC
SeanW
Even a quick RD'ing does good. First time I did it was because I had enough shampoo left for one tank, and the flat had been done twice lol Last time I had it for 48hrs and did 2 houses. So I had plenty of time to do it thoroughly :D
