Hi everyone, am new to this forums, am a huge fan of ford escorts and would like to show from my collection my two mint Escort mk4 both on H reg 1991, one is 1.8d rare two door and other is 1.3 eclipse model, many more pictures to come.

Two lovely cars you have there!

My favourite Mk4s are the saloons, especially the Popular, L models and Eclipses, with the diesels being a particular love of mine too!

You're right, quite rare to see 2 door diesels.

What are their histories and mileages?

I tend to specialize in finding myself low mileage 'minters' that are un-messed with, and as they left the factory. Yours are definitely 'my' kind of cars!

I look forward to more photos. I hope you've covered all angles (under the bonnet and the interiors please!)

Hi thank you for the post, both are 1owner from new, purchased from ford to the new owner then as the previous owner's were finding difficulties to drive due to there age, there went on sale and lucky enough I got in time and purchased them, I collect these kind of cars and been a ford fan for many many years so am very fussy when it comes to buying and knowing what to look for.

The White diesel two door yes it's rare still haven't come across other one yet on h reg, was purchased from elderly lady, 85,000 on clock, I use the car I love the drive! Mileage is done 89,000 got some paper work to it, but the lady can't remember where other paper work is, still she's trying to find it bless her.

The eclipse model.... Just turned 80,000 on clock with full ford service history, all mot papers present, all invoice unbelievable the paperwork I've seen!

I have a mint bmw e21 also I may be going abroad new year if I get my new job I may have to sell my toys there like mine babes lol shame to leave them behind if am not here

Similarly, I've always loved Fords (amongst many other makes).

Same as you, I'm fussy and have passed quite a few cars by over the years, but I will travel to find the right one.

I'll put a thread up at some stage, with other Escorts I've owned (two Mk4s and one Mk3, all three being mint low mileage examples).

I don't recall whether I've seen a 2 door diesel on an H. Even when new, 2 door diesels weren't commonplace, but I always took a particular interest in any diesel Escorts.

I bet you do indeed love driving the diesel! The 1.8D is a good drive. Jumping from 1.6D to 1.8D and back, as I did back in the day, you really noticed the difference between the two, and one appreciated the improvements Ford made to the facelift Mk4.

That being said, I could happily live with my 1.6D as my daily, if I needed to.

Shame if you have yo sell, but needs must. I vowed never to own more than three cars again, but that didn't last long, and something will have to give also, eventually!

Your spot on, the diesel is very good to drive ohh gosh, I was telling one of my mate, the drive and smoothness is bang on! This was years ago, and all details came correct and showed its a genuine car. I like your car nice colour aswell. I have a collection of cars will try putting them up soon

Was that the white one? That was a very tasty car, and I was very tempted indeed! Have seen a few 1.8Ds from time to time for sale, but finding a 'minter' is rare, as the diesels in particular were of course bought for high mileages, and thus the survivors are usually quite 'worn' to say the least!

My 1.8D was the Combi van version (3 door esate without the side windows, for those who aren't familiar with them). Like the 3 door diesel saloon, also rare.

There's a beautiful blue Eclipse on eBay at the moment. If only I had the space for these cars.....!!
