borderfox
As per the thread title, I'm ordering up some stuff from amazon - and whilst I'm at it - need to get an oil filter removal tool. Question is - i'm not sure which one I need for a 2008 Fiesta 1.4 Tdci (03-08 - i think that makes it Mk6??). Can anyone point me in the right direction? stef123
Do they still use a canister type filter or are they a paper element?
borderfox
Thanks Willy. I guess that makes it a Mk 6.5 then. Do they still use a canister type filter or are they a paper element? I honestly don't know. Have never bothered doing any diy servicing - just deciding to go that route now. I guess this should do the trick?; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-2830-Filter-Wrench-Metal/dp/B003AMVZWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418261816&sr=8-1&keywords=Laser+2830+Filter+Wrench+-+Metal+Band
stef123
If you can have a look on euro car parts, put your reg in and have a look at the filter. I have a feeling it's a paper element type, which you will need a large hex socket to remove the plastic holder

Input my reg on one of those sites and it's suggesting this; http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=1323946 I don't have a hex set. I'm not sure if I'm going to be doing enough tinkering to justify buying a full set. Any way of finding out which hex size is needed? Perhaps I can pick something up individually that will do the job.....
stef123
I know on my mondeo and a few other cars I have serviced it's been 36mm
