mrmetallica
i bought my st spoiler with clear brake light .all i had to do was find a way to connect with out cutting wires so i waxed the inside of the plug and filled with resin and that was it .
weybreadfocus
Hi, what do you mean by waxed and filled with resin, could i not cut the connection and solder it? Then put heat shrink over the cable? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

artscot79
Remember to use a good quality silicone when fitting the spolier or you'll end up with a wet boot

artscot79
You need it on the pads that go around the bolt holes otherwise water can leak through which eventually it does you wont notice at first to check remove the plastic cover that hides the bolts to the spoiler and attatch some tissue paper to the inside with a bit of tape after heavy rain pop it off if theres a leak you'll know most on here have done it anyway seal it as those pads when they get too wet just leak

mrmetallica
if i remember rightly i used pond liner and made washers for the bolt holes.
Lenny
I used bathroom silicone around the bolt holes, I also used the head and arm off the household vacuum cleaner: Jammed it between brake pedal and drivers seat simulating foot on pedal. This activated the brake light enabling you to find the correct polarity of cables to get the led brake light working prior to permanently connecting the cables. Alternativly you could ask your missus to press the pedal but generally she won't be in cooperation mode while you're modifying the car, So the vacuum cleaner arm and head are a good alternative.
