Phil 87
That looks great, how much does it cost? I might give it a go if not too expensive. I'd like to know if anyone has used it with an ST and how well it works.

ukcal
Having seen this thread, I have a bluetooth device on the way from eBay. Fingers crossed it works alright! I know some of the devices also come with Wi-Fi transmitters for those with iDevices. It isn't something I'll be looking any further into though! Paramanic
let us know how you get on mate i showed my mate it n he has ordered too lol will be a bunch of us using it! btw what one did you order?
ukcal
Hey mate! I ordered this one here. My quick research last night said that the ones that look like the one I've ordered are all the same, fundamentally, but have different labels simply stuck to the outside. With that in mind, I found the cheapest (and actually with fast delivery) and bought it there and then. Hopefully it works; I should be able to have a play tomorrow or over the weekend with it. Paramanic
Dash command it's in the App Store so thats your software now to find your harware just go to eBay and type in "OBD iphone" and you should see quite a few things on there you can get what i did notice is that the ones for iPhone seem to be a bit more expensive Oh i ordered this one ment to be sent via first class post but got a message from DPD this morning saying it will arrive monday :S that was a nice surprise! :D
Phil 87
That counts me out, don't work with iphone I think that's just the seller putting a disclaimer on there for no apparent reason (and in bad English). It comes with software for Windows and yet that warning says it doesn't work on Windows... I don't see why it can't work on iPhone, it just communicates through bluetooth, so any bluetooth device should work if it has software to read the data. ukcal
Feedback so far for those interested: My cheapo eBay device connected both to my Nexus 7 tablet and Galaxy S2 phone. It definitely connected quicker to my phone, but as both of my devices have been rooted and flashed with custom ROMs, that could be the reason why. It connected happily to my MK7 Fiesta and I also tested it on the parents' 2004 C-Max. It was able to read error codes - or lack of error codes, I should say - and it happily read all of the other available data. While it might sound obvious, do turn on the ignition to connect to the ECU! When I went for a short drive with it connected, I appeared to lose the connection after about 30 seconds and it never came back whilst driving around. I personally am not too bothered by this as I am more interested in having it in the event of any problems, rather than tracking data as I travel. It was fine whilst the car was turned on, but not travelling. Also, I was surprised to see that it worked on my phone whilst my phone was connected to the car bluetooth! With the engine on, I made a phone call using the in-car bluetooth and the app continued to report live data. Impressive. I'd be interested to know how others get on.
Paramanic
here is a screenshot of the set up I have (please note this isnt connected to anything as im in the house just showing my set up) Hey all a wee update with me i got the adapter on Saturday (was ment to be Monday but came the day after) so was very surprise i was like a kid on Christmas! was great it read everything and after a few adjustments with it its really great i cant recommend it enough!!! you can even set a wee alarm to let you know that the engine is running at optimum temperature (where it says optimum running temperature reached! ) and a cold engine warning where it says (when you over rev or thrash before temp is perfect) "engine optimum temperature has not been reached" its amazing and im loving it! tells the boost psi intake temp etc its absolutely great. you can install plug ins like my favourite one called "track record" where you can use it was kind of dash cam but has all customisable dials etc displayed on screen to see everything is working and about your car its amazing and i already created a video but will take another one for you guys though. also reads codes not that i have any! i just think its a great appto work out the horse power of the car you need the weght which is in pounds so 2405lbs for 5door then you add your weight :) Feedback so far for those interested: My cheapo eBay device connected both to my Nexus 7 tablet and Galaxy S2 phone. Phil 87
Looks good, I'm tempted to get it myself. It would be interesting to watch the throttle position while using cruise control, and to try and figure out from the boost gauge if you're on overboost (although good luck with that on normal roads). The only thing that worries me is, could other people connect their phones to it without your knowledge or does it have some secure way to pair with your phone?
Paramanic
you should mate the throttle position moves when on cruise control! (because its watching the sensor at the engine) so it opens and closes but starts at 16% (because obv the engine needs it slightly open to run) and goes to 80% i think (which is full throttle) because the engine actually adjusts the throttle so never open really 100% (this is controlled by the ecu) with the boost gauge you will enter your local air pressure to get most accurate readings i dont know but it would be pretty secure because once your on it it doesnt accept any more phones unless you go into the menu and change that option....but to be fairly honest i unplug mines when i get out the car anyway so in only ever connected when in the car (the obd port is easy to put the bluetooth obd in no problem without looking! )
