Check Micksgarage.ie aswell free shipping Checked in the Halfords in Carrickmines the other day but no Bosch batteries in view. I should probably ask them whether they will bring some in stores. Dee_82 Posted January 24, 2015 Share Posted January 24, 2015 Mind upgrading the front discs will move the brake bias forward esp if you have drums on the back an upgraded discs an pads in the front, ive been rearing a lot on this recently with my rear disc project, you'll probably be looking at around a 75/25 split upgrading the fronts alone, by default its around a 70/30. Jockstar Posted January 24, 2015 Share Posted January 24, 2015 Brakes - I'm of the opinion that drilled or grooved discs are a bit of a marketing tool. I ran a 270bhp 205gti at Knockhill for a couple of years and the biggest difference I ever made to my brakes was the pad I chose and the disc size. I ran solid discs with no issues. I tried DS2500 pads on my S2000 road car which I thought were good. A also ran them on my 205 after my EBC road pads glazed over after a handful of laps on the track. They sustained a lot of track abuse before they started to crumble. I ended up switching to more aggressive minted track pads and never looked back. I could easily lock up the back wheels. Bilstein B12- Ran them on my Vauxhall Corsa and 205 gti. Fit and forget, you really can't go wrong. They don't make the car sit that low, but they just work the way a kit should. Whiteline ARB - I had them on my Bora TDI front and rear. No complaints here. I'm still planning to buy a rear one for my Focus. To be honest I've only had my focus for 2 weeks and as soon as I bought the car I changed the battery. I bought the S4 in August when I had my Astra 1.7cdti and the difference in that compared to whatever was in there was definitely noticeable, much better start ups. Although saying that the battery in the Astra was probably on its way out! But I was impressed with the S4, so as soon as I bought the focus I swapped batteries!! Also just before buying the focus, it did go into limp mode twice (whilst being prepped at a garage)I was told that this was probably as it hasn't been used much (08 plate, 12,000 miles) since I bought it and used the S4, no such problems. I would only imagine the S5 working even better! Sounds good, Assuming your engine is a diesel; have you blanked the EGR valve? There's many positives to this. I agree S5 would be the ultimate for focus diesels, Its identical size to the S4 but the experts tell me that the S5 is designed for the ford focus with "Stop/Start technology. Now to me this would indicate that it stores more power as it can keep things running with the engine off in traffic, But im going to stick with S4 because im not sure if the ford econetic range is wired differently. I personally believe Bosch are a quality company, As all company's they like to make money, They tell me Bosch S4 is the one for standard 1.6Tdci, 1.8tdci and 2.0tdci ford focus engines. I feel if there wasn't a problem with running an S5 then they would make more money selling S5 to all focus diesels. I feel there is some reason why we shouldn't fit S5. Were lucky with the 1.6TDCi as it shares the exact same altanator size as the 2.0tdci This gives us excess power to run accessories where a 2.0tdci driver may be looking for an altanator upgrade. At present ive added: Dual camera DVR system Canbus alarm system Usb power supply Ford logo puddle lights Front & rear footwell lights Bird bath & cup holder lights Reverse camera 7" screen headunit bluetooth system Two aftermarket gauges Heated windscreen Air conditioning Dual boot lighting Dual reverse lighting Front fogs No problems on stock battery :) And I'm about to add: 300W mono amp 400w 4ch amp 10" sub 10" flip down monitor So figured id upgrade the battery and install "the big 3 upgrade" Which is upgrading cables from altanator to battery and battery to chassis Ready made kits are available from America on eBay.com Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Was thinking rather than fork out to retro fit the BT, I could fork out a bit more and get a sat nav/dvd all in 1. I can't vouch for the sound quality for the one you liked but a decent Pioneer one will do the job. You might get less bells and whistles, but the sound quality and the bluetooth compatibility will be well worth it.
