10corsham
Hi Still waiting for new Fiesta delivery. I notice on page 36 of the driver’s handbook mention of a car alarm. I do not know which alarm is being referred to. There is no mention of an alarm in the Fiesta colour brochure. Any clues anybody? paulworthing
Standard fit perimeter alarm on the Zetec S and Titanium models. See page 21 and 23 of brochure. :) Anyway of turning the alarm off as no one pays any attention to them and as mine will be parked away from the house I am not going to hear it and it will only annoy the neighbours! TurboZutek
It's an alarm that sounds if someone: * Tries to remove the stereo * Opens a locked door * Opens the boot or forces the bonnet open * Tries to start the engine without a valid key It doesn't seem to: * Have any volumetric sensing * Detect a window being smashed * Have any method to disable it * Tell you much about it in the manual So in short, it's pretty much totally useless. If you live in a really shady area and you're worried about that sorta thing then fitting a REAL alarm might be an idea. Chris...

I've just fitted some prominent "Alarm Fitted!" stickers which I bought from my local car spares, plus a red flashing LED on the steering column shroud which can be switched on with a hidden switch mounted behind the console. So although my Mk7 Titanium has the (useless) standard Ford alarm, it now looks as if it's got an expensive aftermarket one - all for less than £10.
