fezzar
Could I have some advice? I am going to clean the throttle body on my 2003 fiesta 1.4 petrol and it seems to be a good idea to change the gasket. I didn't want to take it off without having the new gasket so don't know what it looks like. I have seen a drawing that shows a o-ring seal as it does here: http://eucatparts.com/?action=cat_ford_part&s_id_part=1148083&s_id_model=6 And also a silicon gasket that looks similar like this: http://fordfiestast.co.uk/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/187751/site_id/1#import. Do both need to be changed? Thanks Tom.
Ffoxy
Its always advisable and good practice to re-fit components using quality new gaskets. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app
fezzar
Thanks. Got round to doing this the other day. The large silicon gasket seems to be for ST. My fiesta needed the o-ring gasket but didn't need changing as it was in good shape. The throttle was really caked with 90,000 miles of varnish/dirt and I used half a bottle of throttle cleaner on it! Can't believe the difference it made anyone who has not done this really should. Obd diagnostics said before clean throttle at idle was 13% open. Now its at 2%. So much better idle, and amazing performance difference too!
