.Nick.
Found this car on eBay. It is a Titanium but with Studio/Style headlights. It's an early car so maybe a mistake in the factory?
poohbear
Are they different on the Zetec and Titanium then?
paulworthing
Yeah the Zetec, Zetec S and Titanium have chrome surrounds to the headlights whereas the lower models have black surrounds. Either it was a factory mistake, someone has changed them or the car has been in a minor shunt and then the lights where replaced they used the wrong ones (although if Ford are the previous owner I doubt it would have been repared badly)

paulworthing
???Nah. Your trouble is Paul...you're having too long to think about your impending delivery! ;) Well it has been over 8 weeks already . . and still counting!
Nightowl
Well it has been over 8 weeks already . . and still counting! Well... I decided on the Fiesta over the new Mk6 VW Golf. Just as well really - because if I walked into a VW dealership today and ordered the 1.4 TSi SE Golf - I wouldn't be able to take delivery until February at the earliest & more likely March. This is due to severe shortages in the new 1.4 turbo-charged engine - which has just won '2009 Engine of the Year' btw - as the VW Group put them in VW's, Seat's and Audi's of course. They simply can't build enough engines to satisfy demand. My Fiesta is due for delivery in September - having ordered it on the last day of June. I'm hoping that good things really do come to he who waits!

poohbear
I'm not either...I think he knows perfectly well but doesn't want to let on.
Aitchess
Yeah the Zetec, Zetec S and Titanium have chrome surrounds to the headlights whereas the lower models have black surrounds.Either it was a factory mistake, someone has changed them or the car has been in a minor shunt and then the lights where replaced they used the wrong ones (although if Ford are the previous owner I doubt it would have been repared badly) Like you and poohbear say, I reckon this must've had the headlamps replaced after some sort of accident - it seems too big a mistake for Ford themselves to have made whilst building it or repairing it. It certainly seems to have been built as a Titanium (on 28 October 2008) going by the feature count on Etis. Not only are those headlamps different-looking than the ones standard for the Titanium, Zetec S and Zetec, they're also intentionally less powerful, being ordinary reflectors, not projector units. poohbear
Also, I think you would say, I'm not sure, but I will try and find out for to a customer, not just "pass". They obviously aren't letting on. It's a shame because we spotted it (well i didnt but someone did!) but someone who buys it probably wont.
Michael P
maybe the owner just specified them, i think i would if i was buying one much prefer the black look on lights rather that reflective/sliver look
paulworthing
maybe the owner just specified them, i think i would if i was buying onemuch prefer the black look on lights rather that reflective/sliver look The headlights are predetermined by what model you buy - Zetec, ZS or Titanium and you get the projector ones with chrome surrounds - lower models get ordinary lights with the black surrounds.
