Mk 6 Weird Starting Problem

Hi

I am new to the club, but felt I had better join for tips and advice, rather than just muddle through.

My car has developed a problem about a week ago. When I start the engine, it won't idle and stalls. However once in a gear and I move, problem is no longer present.

I am currently charging the battery as I have only been town driving recently, taking into account the low temps of late.

Any other ideas?

I had the exact same problem on my 2003 Fiesta. It turned out to be the crank case breather pipe (think was torn).

It especially gets annoying when the weather is cold as i remember!
