hazzahex Posted February 18, 2015 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Hello, Just picked up my my 2010 Focus MK2.5 1.8 Zetec with Sport Pack. Loving it so far, but only done about 150 miles. Has anyone done a modification to the needle pointers in the dashboard. I am looking to change the colour of the needle pointers from the default red to mabe a blue from the 2012 focus for example. images of both attached. hazzahex Posted February 18, 2015 Author Share Posted February 18, 2015 Yeah, to be fair, the mk3 needles look much better, i found a video online where a guy removed the needles from his VW golf or something and took out the needles. He scratched the paint off the back of the needles (apparently thats where the colour comes from) and then repainted them (scratched off red and painted blue) Will look and see if i can find the video again. Where would one go to find a written off scrapped mk3 anyways? i suppose if the needles are too long one could just make them shorter? Ford_Man Posted February 18, 2015 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I personally wouldn't want to mess about with my standard needles in case it doesn't work and you need to use them again at a later date! Installing the blue needles of the MK3 will not result in blue illuminated needles. You also have to change the SMD LED's if you want blue illuminated needles.
