-ScottyB-
The ladybird above reminded me of one of my purchases. I have a very discreet USB flash drive in my car. It is barely noticeable, and can be directly connected to phones and tablets too (assuming you're not in the iOS world!). The link on Amazon for it is here. I've been thinking of swapping out my iPod for one of these. Can you setup playlists on it? Bit of a genre nerd and I have a lot of playlists :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
ukcal
Yes, you can! I have a bookmarked link somewhere with instructions on ensuring it works :) I'll post it up tomorrow when I'm more awake!

Bit of a genre nerd and I have a lot of playlists :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC I'd be interested in one of the too. As I have my iPod touch in the car at the moment, and it consumes all the space where I plug it in. using this Micro USB drive is going to be ideal, it's very discrete and I can leave it plugged in. As it's not that visible as the iPod touch (which I always unplug and store away when leaving the car parked up!) Also I don't have 3.0 USB ports on my computer, so i'll have to go for the 2.0 USB version http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-32GB-Micro-DataTraveler-Flash/dp/B00IRUS7KU/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1428651158&sr=1-8&keywords=Micro+Duo+Flash+Drive

ukcal
Morning both! Here is the link that gave me the advice needed. I can confirm that this works perfectly on my 2009 Zetec S! http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/car-audio-sync-myford-touch-electronics/308605-sync-playlists-usb-thumb-drive-ford-sync.html#/enter I do have some files that my stereo says it can't play, but that's because they have unusual characters in the file name. One day I will sort that out... I have used MediaMonkey for some time now and can confirm it is an excellent program, worth replacing Windows Media Player with! I can also recommend a program called MP3Tag for editing the tag information and album art of your MP3s. I use that for everything I download and use it to give every MP3 file the same file name structure. I really am an organised geek!

It just won't transfer files at 2.0 speed rather than 3.0.

That guide is really old and dated... anyway I've found a MUCH easier way to create playlists. Tried and tested on my MK7.5 with this little device: I'll be creating a guide shortly, to share with others. That MediaMonkey did my head right in!! samfiestaperv
My new leather gaiter which I ummed and ahhed about as didn't want to compromise my fiesta's identity, but actually looks great! The top to the gear knob which has been cracked for over a year. And this little gizmo that goes over the boot lock that really tidied it up

L22EEW
I'm currently using a double 12v socket & 1 USB port. Each socket has a USB bullet connector - each only have an output of 1.0a, the USB port only has an output of 0.5a. Had to laugh, I plugged my LG G2 USB lead into the USB port... the phone was actually discharging. I have 2 item running off the sockets: Item A - which is holding it's charge quite well Item B - which isn't holding it's charge very well. Very similar to this (from the pound shop rubbish): & 2 of these (1 in each socket): Just purchased this from amazon @ £6.99 - shame minimum spend has changed to £20 for the free delivery http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YGJVZ8W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 4 USB ports, each have an output of 2.4a - which is super fast charging ;) Includes a 2-year warranty! ukcal
Nice find there, mate. I have a two USB socket wired in for the dash cams bought on eBay in the glovebox. I think that puts out 3A in total between the two ports. This find, in comparison, is pretty damn useful!
