Ford Focus 2007 Sport "s"

I bought a Ford Focus 2007 Sport S last year, I love it, but I am still confused by what the Sport and S actually signify. From what I can find online, Sport is just the trim level, but S ..... nothing. The car has aluminium gear knob, hand brake, and a couple of nice sill plates on the front doors, which I assume is what the "S" added to it. Does anyone know if there's anything else, or is it just nice little additions like I mentioned ? Cant find much about this Sport S model online :(

Hate ford for this sport I've seen many sports with a lower powered engine not nice alloys and that's about it I've the zetec ti vct I've got the aluminium handbrake cover and button the aluminum two tone gearknob only thing I don't have is the sill plates

I've seen a sport and had a look at it honestly its just a marketing ploy on fords part how a lower powered engine can have a sport s badge baffles me as I've got the sport clocks higher rpm red pointers aluminum clock inserts etc etc

There is no Sport S.

I'd suggest that someone has stuck on a S badge.

On a Zetec S the S signifies it's the Sport version of the Zetec which is 2 trim levels above Sport.

MK2 Sport S does exist, it was a special edition produced in 2007 which added 17" alloy wheels, aluminum hand brake cover, body colored rear spoiler/boot handle/door handles, trip computer and a sportier gear shift knob all as standard.

There are quite a few for sale on eBay.

Seeing as the S stands for Sport tbh I think a Sport Sport is pointless.

I personally have never come across a sport s.

I have a Sport and akaik the next ones are a Zetec then Zetec S.

Reading up on etis using that first listings reg all I can see that the ss has over my car is the chrome handbrake (fitted one myself), sill plates (done), auto lights (don't want) and 17" wheels- big whoop tbh.

I can end this one the sport s wasn't introduced as an official model till 2010 by ford http://www.ford.co.uk/FordFleet/NewsAndReviews/FordForBusiness/2010/September/FocusSport

There is a sport sport s and zetec zetec s

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-reviews/ford/focus/hatchback-2005/equipment/

Sport s only came in 1.8 petrol or diesel from 2006 onwards as a limited edition between Oct 2006 and march 2007

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-reviews/ford/focus/hatchback-2005/facts-figures/

Its just a zetec really there's no spec difference except a badge and maybe slloys

So basically those cars that are listed as sport s in Smudges post are just Zetecs as they definitely aren't sport or Ghia trim (wheels are all Zetec ones) and aren't mk2.5's so no sport s until after the 2.5 came out

No they did do it for a year but only in 1.8 petrol 3/5 door 1.8 tdci 3/5door they are just rebadged zetecs same equipment level

The official sport s line was 2010 ford rebranded the zetec as a sport s in 2006-2007 as a special edition but theres nothing special about them other than the alloys are different and the rear spoiler is colour coded I

Sport S was a special edition (as I'd mentioned previously) but it's different to the Zetec. There's no sports suspension or heated screen, neither is there an armrest, dark headlight surrounds, chrome grille and the interior is based on the LX. So it seems to sit between a Sport and Zetec.

It's essentially a Sport with the interior and exterior Styling Packs Ford offered so perhaps the S actually means Style?

Who knows, but completely agree, not worth the extra expense....

Perhaps Ford were using up parts.

No heated screen no armrest no sports suspension what's the point it actually sits at the 3rd from bottom trim I must admit ford really do some weird badge ideas my mates got a sport and wasn't very pleased when he found out I had more power in his words "but you can't have mines a sport" my s badges are just stuck on cos they look nice

Perhaps Ford kitted the Sport up to make it more attractive come resale to flog remaining stock?

Entirely possible with ford specifications the variance is mind boggling

Don't get me wrong I didn't pay any extra for the car (cheaper than most even with low mileage), was just curious :) I do have the nice big'ish alloys too, and I do have heated screen (windscreen and rear both have the wavy lines in them and buttons to activate ?), plus the other bits its quite nice, didn't expect any other changes really. Ford's system for naming the bazillion trim levels they have does get confusing. I thought i had it sussed at one point until I started seeing S and X variants popping up :)

The original owner would've paid the extra for the S. The heated windscreen is a nice touch, that would've been added as an option :)

When I bought the car, I thought nothing of it, took it for granted as I had it with my old MK1 Ghia too, glad to know the original owner had the sense to get the option, makes the dashboard look daft with just 1 button out of 4 having any use !
