jeebowhite
The one reason I'm glad I didn't go to uni. I already have enough of my own debt from car swaps and house moves but now having to pay that off, just so glad I don't have a debt for student loan Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk

jeebowhite
I applaude anyone who goes to uni and betters themselves, its a lot of work and accomplishment, but I don't envy the mandated debt that comes with with it. And it's only set to rise Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Philf1
Annoying thing was she started 3 years ago the first year of the increased fees. £9k a year and still couldn't guarantee a tutor would turn up for lectures. Anyway she got her degree so all good now. Looking forward to the graduation ceremony now. Gezzs
I definitely LIKE the surprise I had today. Went to sign some paperwork on the new car and got a sneaky peek at it. Found out it comes with 'flappy paddles' as standard. ...and it's gorgeous!
SeanW
I'm amused by the number of people who cannot say Argus...saying Argos instead (Not much difference between them...ones a ship with a fully functioning hospital and helicopter facilities, whilst the other is a shop)

Gezzs
Spoke to Aviva today to confirm they had the right details for my new insurance as the quote (£216) was lower than all other quotes and I've found some sites do not yet have the MK5 on the system. Turns out Aviva didn't either! They rang the underwriters and the quote got revised....DOWN to £210! Happy days!

thatfiestaguy
So I'm at work.... And guess what today is? Yes, that's right, it's Thursday....... Results day! All I can hear is screaming girls and teachers "You got 5 A Stars, that's excellent!"... These are some bright kids, wish I got 5 A* at GCSE. I managed two! I have yet to see anyone in tears and I hope I won't! Also, best of luck to SeanW with his GCSE results.

WES180
Got my results today... Did you get the results you wanted Chris?
chrisroberson99
Kind of. Out of 10 IGCSE's, I got; 6 B's, Science (x2)(very happy), English Lang & Lit (happy), Geography (hoping for A) and Food Tech (hoping for A) 2 C's, RS (wtf it should've been an A, school is miffed as lots of people were way lower than expected, might do a remark) & Maths (which I was expecting and am happy with) 2 D's' History (expected as I don't like it) & German (disappointed and I'm in the middle of the class too! Might get a remark.) So overall not too bad but would've liked a few A's and miffed by German and RS. At least my core things were good.
WES180
Good results there mate, well done! I think mum and dad should buy you a car for your hard work!;)
chrisroberson99
Thanks! Yes mum is pleased, especially with Science, Maths and English. Going out for a Chinese tonight! :) Hopefully RS will be remarked and it will get moved up to a B, I was very close to the boundary. And back to Cyprus again on Tuesday, enjoyed it so much might as well go back for a bit more sun!

chrisroberson99
Better than me! You did 11? My excuse is IGCSE is harder than normal GCSE
thatfiestaguy
Better than me! You did 11? My excuse is IGCSE is harder than normal GCSE If we are playing the bragging game...... I got 12 GCSE's ..... :P Although the best were 2 A*/ A (Whatever the Distinction is equivalent to as a GCSE grade) in Business Studies. 3 C's.... (That I can remember... maybe more?) NVQ level 2/3 Spanish - Equivalent GCSE Grade B (Unfortunately I can barely string a sentence together in Spanish - I think it went in one ear and out the other!) 2 X GCSE Grade C in BTEC Art & Design .. (Dissapointed a bit with this one - Could have got the full 4 GCSE's at Grade B [that was my aim] by completing all 5 projects, due to part bone-idleness I got 2 @ Grade C instead :( ) Can't remember the rest off the top of my head! - We are dating back to June/July 2011! :P No, but seriously - Well done, those are some good results! :)
chrisroberson99
All right! Stop running it in. Shame I got a measly 8. :(
Ianb
It's all a little overrated I think... If you're after a job that's just looking for gcse's as your top qualification, the majority seem to want 5 C's or above, Inc maths and English, then if you're looking at jobs that need more quals than gcse's it's 5 C's and above + whatever else they want... Then there are the employers that don't like A* students in everything, they'd rather a mixed bag etc etc
MONDEO TXS 2.2
As an employer I'd rather see a degree in common sense from the university of life than a long list of qualifications
