How do ford do it? I popped the bonnet this morning and had a look at my brand new engine and nearly popped an eyes octet with how fricking small the engine really is! Unbelievable power out of something so small too

How the flip do ford do it? Is the eco boost type engine unique to ford as well?

Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

Losing a cylinder and chucking a turbo on there usually helps :p

Possible to get them up to 160bhp I was told while at Collins Performance recently, that may well have been with more than just a remap though.

Something I wouldn't have thought of is that the engine note is quite unique too due to it having a cylinder missing ;)

Needless to say that Poxhall had 3 pot '' engines '' in C*rsa's in the late 90's with no turbo & they were gutless - Ford's ecoboost is light years ahead.

Suzuki also in the alto in 1980. And cappuchino in 1992 with turbo, 660cc ,

Ford engine bit of an improvement over these.ha ha

My mum and my grandad now both have the 1L ecoboost in different Fords.

Great engine, amazing how hard it still pulled in my mum's Focus estate, with 5 adults and a full tank of fuel. :D
