“SHEISTA”

Since the release of the MK7.5 Fiesta, I’ve been thinking about a purchase for a while. My heart was set on a Zetec S and nothing less. My mate showed me a 2013 Titanium on Gumtree for sale, so I took a look and though Nah! I want a Zetec S. Gave the Titanium a thought overnight, and dropped a message to the seller asking if he could move on the price. Which he did (-£500), so arranged a viewing. As soon as I seen it, I fell in love. She was in absolute show room condition, and only had 8000 miles on the clock.

Have owned this little beaut since the end of January 2015. Fully dressed with the dress-up kit, which makes a hell of a difference – in my opinion! Loaded with many optional extras: 17” 8-spoke alloy wheels, full leather and convenience pack, city pack and active city stop.

The modifications came flooding in...

First thing first, was to de-tango. Can’t stand those horrid orange blobs:

019

018

017

Also fitted LED number plate bulbs & LED stop/tail bulbs:

025

026

Within 5 days of ownership, she was in the workshop having a custom made exhaust system fitted. I opted for a nice twin tail pipe:

009

Next was to replace the front chrome middle griller, lower grille and fog light surrounds. I replaced these with the honeycomb style from the Zetec S:

006

001

021

023

Headlight upgrades:

010

013

028

Finally after loads of faffing about (4 weeks almost) with paperwork with the DVLA, my private registration was FINALLY transfered from old vehicle to Shiesta.

The next step was to invest in some security, and purchased a Thatcham category 3 approved steering lock:

016

EcoBoost top engine cover was the next modification:

022

Latest modification is replacing all the interior lights to LED (Boot, footwells, Map lights and Interior light:

024

Planned modifications:

  • Replace current “rubber” pedal covers, for the aluminum sports type
  • Reversing LED's
  • Rear LED "lightbar" lights
  • Dual LED boot lights
  • Fit Automatic rear boot-lid lift springs *Scraped, couldn't get the modification to work <_<*
  • Fit a Kenwood KSC-SW11 underseat subwoofer
  • Exterior gel overlay badges (Bonnet, boot & maybe wheels)
  • Front lower air deflector / spoiler
  • 30mm lowering springs
  • Heko Wind deflectors.
  • Door sill protection [scuff plates].
  • Rear diffuser.
  • "Short" metal pressed - Road legal number plates
  • "Wrap" the chrome strip, along the middle of all doors - looking to do black, to match the door pillars.
  • "Wrap" chrome boot strip - Didn't wrap the chrome in the end, managed to find a white colour coded tailgate handle on eBay - took 6 months to find one
  • Hard wire in a FRONT Mobius cam
  • Hard wire in a REAR dash cam
  • Hard wire in a micro USB Phone/GPS charger *Thanks Stoney871*

Very nice, mate! I'd be interested to know more about your LED stop/tail bulbs and whether air filter has made much difference (though obviously yours has also had a remap!).

Thanks!

Air Filter was fitted last Sunday. I've filled the tank up today, and reset the computer. I shall wait until I'm near the red, and checkout the MPG.

As for the stop/tail lights, I just bought a pair of SMD LED Bulbs. They look great, ever better at night. I'd recommend them, but get bulbs with plenty of LED's

Yes mate, they work perfect. I had a mate sitting in the car pushing the brake pedal at night. Normal brightness when on as tail lights, and they get much brighter when the brake is pressed.

Better than having to fork out nearly £200 on new LED clusters?

Blimey, £2 is a great price.. And the brightness and spread of light is still at least the same as the original bulbs?

I suppose they would need removing prior to an MOT!

Nah! I had these in my Clio for years, and they stayed in on every MoT. Never failed on the bulbs, never. I will more than likely upgrade these again from SMD to CREE LED's ;)

New minor modification, new pedal covers ;)

Picked these up from AliExpress for $7.51 (or £5.03), considering the cost from Ford are £47.19 +VAT = £56.62

Very easy to fit, as the only pedals that had covers inside the Fiesta were the brake and clutch. The accelerator didn't have a cover, it's literally just a plastic pedal. It was simply a case firstly removing the current rubber cover, then fitting the new rubber cover first & finally pushing the metal top cover into place. Securing it in place (on top of the rubber cover) by folding over the metal edges.

New Mobius dashcam has arrived today. I purchased the Camera, Mount, Piggyback and Hard-wire kit from 4 different sellers. Today the Camera, Mount and Piggyback all arrived - just waiting for the hardwire kit now. All took only 10 days to arrive (placed order 20th March, delivered 30th March)

Temporary set-up (needs tweaking, due to plastic surround from ActiveCityStop camera in the way)

Here is a photo of the finished set-up, as you can see not much visible wiring at all ;) I did wrap the USB cable around the mirror once - just in case I ever needs to make adjustments and/or change position of the camera mount.

I decided to mount the camera there, because:

1) I didn't want it stuck in towards to middle of the windscreen

2) The camera doesn't pick up/record the plastic ActiveCityStop camera trim edge.

Latest project: Acquired a KSC-SW11 earlier today, from Gumtree. The guy included some RCA leads in the sale too. Paid £70 which is a bargain..!

In my previous vehicle I did have a 1000w JBL sub in an enclosed box, with a JBL amp mounted on the back. This was situated in the boot, and as a result of this I lost half of my boot space. I didn't fancy losing half my boot space in the Fiesta, and originally I wasn't even going to fit a sub (was quite happy with the sound).

The Kenwood is only 150w, but does have a built in amp. It's the size of a mansize tissue box, and fits perfectly under the seat. As for the sound, you can definitely notice/hear the difference to bass. You can feel the vibrations, but more so if you were sitting on the passenger seat, lol. It's not a banging bass where the car rattles, it's more like a mid bass - but there's a boom to it. It also depends on what sort of music you listen to, as for me I like Trance and funky house - both have plenty of beats!
