BenW
Got my new Bluevision bulbs through today... they are the wrong ones despite me following an eBay link (from this forum i think) and also despite the seller saying it is compatible. What the mk7 has..... And what I purchased.... Annoying.... Halfords i reckon!! Ben
DanGull
God Ben, I hope it wasn't a link posted by me. I'm very sorry if so.
irononreverse
What bulbs did you get in the end? From these forums it seems that H1 and H7 are the ones we should be getting but I'm holding off for now. I've got to get the wireless singstar microphones! smudger
I hope you have remembered to thoroughly degrease and clean the bulbs before you put them back in your car!!!! Touching bulbs with bare fingers is a complete no no, grease etc will contaminate the glass causing hot spots and they will blow in no time at all. If you do accidentally touch them, you need to clean the glass with spirit of other similar to remove the grease. I sometimes wonder why people complain of bulbs blowing quickly in their cars, especially after changing them - if they dont keep their fingers off the glass, that is probably why! Trav
I have just looked these up and they sound quality, but do you have to have Xenon headlights for them to work, or would they work on my standard Mk6 headlights?

These bulbs don't require the full Xenon HID setup to install, they just use xenon gas to give the light a brighter, whiter colouring and should work on any car. What you trying to say?... that I have greasey fingers!! :o No i did not clean them after, as I am replacing them anyway and I did test them after and all is well. If they do now break in the time it takes to get new ones through at least i know why eh! thanks for that!! ;)
