Brought some ford bars will update with pictures when I get round to fitting.

They locate on brackets underneath the door you will see a plastic cover where a blot hole is.

You should be careful with roof bars on a Focus MK3. Several people already reported that the (original) roof bars dented the roof.

Personally I did not want to take any risks and decided to not use roof bars on my Focus MK3.

I've got the thule wing bars with the rapid fitting kit and they work just fine.

Took a while to put them together but now they are you can put them on and take them off in a couple of minutes.

Think my bike rack is called free ride 352. Very simple to use.

Bit disconcerting the first time you drive around with a bike up there. I kept looking to make sure it was there or watching for the bikes shadow lol.

Mayo10uk what type/brand roof bars are those you've fitted?

Fitment looks really easy & seem quite streamlined for permanent fixture.

I've been looking on Google but haven't seen any like that.

Thanks

Hi, finally fitted the front bar this morning. They are FORD roof bars.

They come out of the box, ready assembled, just take off the locked covers, place the brackets in the locator and secure with the supplied tool that gives you the correct torque.

Worth every penny. Takes 5-10 mins a bar. See the results below. I will update with part number when I find the receipt. Laugh out loud.

Couple more quick questions about roof/cross bars & bike racks before I take the plunge -

*I understand that once these are fitted my MPG will drop but is it likely to be catastrophic?

*Do the roof bars/empty bike rack generate much noise while driving (no bike fitted)?

*Can the cross bar type (as per Mayo10uk) be removed/re-fitted on a regular basis or best left in situ?

Thanks for listening to me ramble :)

Ive just brought a cycle bracket from Argos £9.99 rubber coated. So when I remove the frame I can hang on the wall. Just gotta make space in garage, currently got building work going on etc.. Come October time the bars will be coming off.

I've just bought a thule 532 bike carrier & will get the cross bars same as yours later, anyone know what sort of speed thule carriers are rated at?

New roof bars arrived today, after opening the box found that the keys and torque tool are missing. 😕

Contacted Trustfirstparts who have apologised & sent missing bits first class, all being well I'll have them fitted tomorrow.

Help desperately needed with roof bars!

Ive bought the genuine Ford roof bars and am trying to fit them. The vital fitting seems straight forward but what are the 6 hard sticky things for? The instructions are pretty unclear.

i thought they went on the underside of the  bars so you didn’t scratch them with the clamps on the box but after googling them, I don’t think that’s the case. Have tried looking on YouTube for fitting instructions but there isn’t any for my 2016  focus.

Thanks for your help!

You will need different fittings to connect the bars to the new car. I recently changed from a mk3 to a mk4 and have had to get new foot pack and fittings kit for my thule Wing Bars.

Hi!

Help please. I bought my 2013 Mk3 Focus in March and treated myself to a (second hand) roof rack, original Ford like this above.

Could anyone help with the fitting instructions? The base plates are numbered 1-4. I just don't want to tighten up the brackets and find it's wrong and potentially dent the roof.

Many thanks! Stephen
